Precalculus 2 will be offered at Peninsula College summer quarter, although the class is usually not available as a summer class. This means those who need to take the Calculus sequence can start their sequence from fall. If students miss summer’s Precalculus 2 at the college, then they would need to wait for another academic year. For more information, visit classes.pencol.edu/All/MATH.

Peninsula College President Luke Robins announced the postponement of the 2020 Commencement that was scheduled on June 20. The Commencement is now planned on Aug. 22.
This is the reflection of student voice that was collected through survey; two-thirds of the survey responses from graduating sophomores indicated that they preferred waiting until August in hopes of walking across the stage in front of your families and guests, rather than attending a virtual ceremony in June, according to Robins.
"Commencement is one of the most cherished moments in the lives of students and their loved ones. But protecting your health and the health of our community remains Peninsula College’s top priority in all of our decisions during this challenging time," Robins said.
For more information and updates, visit https://pencol.edu/Commencement.

2020 Commencement PostponedIn response to a survey of 2020 PC graduates, Peninsula College will postpone the June 20 ceremony to Aug. 22. Of nearly 140 graduating sophomores surveyed, nearly 100 of them chose Aug. 22 over a virtual ceremony on June 20. We will hold whatever ceremony is allowed, and....

Peninsula Campuses will be closed campuses today, except for child care at the Port Angeles location.
The college officials said that all events through April 12. are canceled.
These decisions were based on COVID-19 developments over the weekend and announcements yesterday, March 16. from the Governor and President, college officials said.

03/14/2020

March 16 will be the last day of Winter Quarter, for face-to-face classes, Peninsula College President Luke Robins said, as Gov. Inslee has declared.

Revised first day of Spring Quarter 2020, both face-to-face and online, is April 13 instead of the original date April 6.

The classes are held online until April 24, but Proftech and labs will continue to meet in person from 13th through 24th, with appropriate social distancing guidelines, Robins said.

The college’s tentative plan is to resume regular operations on April 27.

No matter the class adjustment, the campus will remain open. These places include the library, business office, Pirate Central, and the Pirate Pantry. Robins said that the childcare would remain open as well.

“... this is a fast-moving and constantly changing health crisis in our community,” Robins said. He followed that details are still evolving, but he would update the campus community regularly, as information is provided.

He encourages the campus community to continue checking e-mails from the college, college’s social media and the college website.

There is no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Clallam County as of 10 a.m., while Jefferson County has one confirmed case.

"The County Health Officer is not recommending closures of public schools or other public spaces, nor cancellation of scheduled community activities. We are following that guidance at this time," the college President Luke Robins said.

There will be another update this afternoon after 4:30 p.m. Emergency Operations Center briefing.

"We’ll also continue to monitor developments over the weekend, and we’ll devote plenty of time for discussion at the Monthly Meetings next week," Robins said.

COVID 19 Update: Peninsula College's Incident Command team will be meeting Wednesday to review the contingency plan and to conduct a tabletop exercise that would cover the college's response should a pandemic alert be declared, said PC President Luke Robins.

Should the situation change over the weekend, the college will adjust the planning accordingly, as well as continuing to monitor state and national notices and communicate with local health authorities.

The college has posted some basic information and general precautionary steps to minimize our risk of illness on the college website earlier today. These steps entail washing hands frequently, avoiding touching and so much more. For more information, check https://pencol.edu/news/coronavirus-update.

Both men's and women's soccer teams dominated the game on Sept. 18 at Sigmar Field. Number 4, Zahori Toledo keeps the Whatcom players on their heels. Number 9, Nicolas Hernandez gassed the opponents on the pitch. Collectively, the Pirates held their guests to a single point scored by the mens team; women's concluded the game 4-0, and men's 4-1. Go Pirates!
