Today my baby lost his unicorn Boomer. Boomer came to us underweight and severely malnourished. Augie put time in loving, brushing and riding his horse to bring his spirits up so he would eat. Boomer was literally depressed until he met August. To everyone else he was a grumpy old gelding but to Augie he was a perfect unicorn. He always gave him extra food and hay even when he was supposed to be riding (not eating). Our baby loved this “unicorn” and gave him a perfect end to his long life; filled with love hugs, attention, treats…anything to make a horse happy. Please say a little prayer for my broken hearted boy. This is his first loss and it’s a big one. RIH boomer!

Sugar Bear has been such a good mama! We have created registered Majestic Tree Hounds! They are just precious! All but one are girls and the little boy is a noisy one just like his daddy!

Today we had salad fresh from our garden with rotisserie chicken and corn on the cob! It’s so nice to eat produce with no dyes, wax, or preservatives on them, knowing they are pesticide free and truly organic! Literally the most satisfying salad I have ever eaten! The kids really enjoyed it too!

Ok so yelp this is happening now. We had a sick cow loaded to go to vet, she jumped out the trailer and we have been changing thru the street and pastures. Waiting on friends with cow horses to pen her and rope her

Work here in the ranch never ends. Out cutting firewood. It took 3 pickup trucks and a trailer to get most of this tree that fell down.

Tuesday was a busy day on the ranch. I had to dig out all of the used dirty shavings from a stall and get it ready for the new rubber floor mats. Wish I had done it before I put a horse in there. Boy was it a job. And my daughter helped drag the mats out and place them in the barn. Thank God for youthful strength. Here are the before and after pictures. Work never ends here on the ranch.

2 of our pullets have finally started laying. Can’t wait for the rest to catch on. The kids are so excited to go and collect eggs in the morning. We have been collecting since Saturday! Nothing better than farm fresh food!

Good morning up at 7am out to feed the barn cats, hound dogs, chickens and peacocks 🦚 then out to the pasture. Cows 🐄 were hungry this morning as well as the horses 🐎. Everyone hay, fed and watered until this evening. What a beautiful morning we are blessed with.

Teach kids to love and respect horses and they automatically learn responsibilities and respect for every other aspect in life! Children who ride don’t waste time on electronics! They love to be outside in the saddle.

Today we put the kiddos to work on some veggie gardening! As they have been learning all about the environment in their homeschool lessons they were excited to ride the tractor with Nanna and roll up their sleeves and shovel some fresh manure to insure our veggies grow healthy and fruitful! We planted everything from peppers and onions to cucumbers and green beans! I can’t wait to see what their little green thumbs produce!
