Valley Glen Structure Fire

FIRE NOW OUT: Outside fire extended into a one story commercial building (doing business as Sherman Way Marketplace). Additional resources were requested. Firefighters initiated an offensive operation and quickly extinguished the outside fire while crews also made entry into the building. They knocked down the interior fire, preventing it from extending into the attic. There are no injuries reported. The 9-1-1 call was received at 3:03AM. No further details.
Sun Valley Shopping Center Shooting Investigation
9:50 PM 8501 Laurel Canyon Blvd Sun Valley - Los Angeles police department responded to reports of a shooting outside of a Kohl's department store near Laurel Canyon and Roscoe. Reports came in that victim was shot at location and his girlfriend has transported him to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley. Police scanner audio stated that the victim was shot in the chest and is in critical condition. The victims car was found at the hospital ER entrance. LAPD foothill division is investigating this shooting.
Van Nuys Fatal Traffic Collision
10:47 AM 6800 N Woodley Ave Los Angeles city fire Department responded with a physical rescue traffic collision response to Woodley and Vanowen. Two vehicle traffic collision one vehicle versus a wall and traffic signal pole. Two victims transported to local hospital one believed to be fatal. LAPD Valley traffic division is at location investigating. The intersection of Vanowen and Woodley is shut down for unknown period of time.
Hollywood Hills Large Tree Falls Onto 2 Story Home
2833 Nichols Canyon Pl 11:09 PM Los Angeles city fire Department responded to a call of a tree that fell onto a house. When units arrived I found a large tree that fell into a two-story home. LAFD called for building and safety and ordered the homeowner to stay out of the house. Building and safety is investigating.
North Hollywood Fatal Shooting
11:50 PM 6810 Simpson Ave North Hollywood. Los Angeles police department and Los Angeles city fire Department responded to reports of a victim down from a shooting. When units arrived they found one male unconscious not breathing beyond medical help. Los Angeles city fire Department declared the person deceased at location. LAPD received reports that the mail was a victim of a drive-by shooting the car was a possible white 2022 Mercedes SUV that was last seen westbound on Vanowen towards Laurel Canyon. LAPD is investigating this shooting.
Burbank Car Under Semi Truck 5 Freeway
12:17 AM 5 freeway north at Burbank underpass. Burbank fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving an In-N-Out semi truck and a silver sedan. When units arrived they found one car underneath the semi one person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Rain was heavy during the time of the traffic collision. CHP & Burbank fire Department handling.
La Crescenta Fatal Traffic Collision 210 Freeway
11:59 PM Glendale fire department and California Highway patrol responded to the area of the 210 freeway southbound at Pennsylvania Avenue. When units arrived they found a multi vehicle traffic collision with cars scattered in all lanes. One person was beyond medical help and pronounced deceased at the scene. CHP has four lanes of traffic closed with only one lane open. CHP investigating the traffic conditions. Heavy rain was falling at time of collision.
Valley Glen Fatality Structure Fire With Interview From Neighbor

PRELIM: 28 Firefighters took just 22 minutes (1:21 AM) to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire within one apartment on the first floor of a 23,523-square-foot, 24 unit two-story apartment building. In extinguishing the fire, responders discovered the remains of one person (unknown age / gender / site affiliation / circumstances ) within the involved unit. No other injuries reported. Fire cause under active investigation. --
Los Angeles police department also responded to the call for a shooting with possible victims down. No suspect was found at the location.
Arleta Fatal Hit And Run
10:21 PM Los Angeles police department and Los Angeles fire Department responded to an auto pedestrian call at 14110 Terra Bella St when units arrived they found one victim unconscious not breathing beyond medical help. LAPD stated that they are looking for a white four-door SUV that fled westbound on Terra Bella. LAPD Valley traffic division is investigating this traffic collision.
Porter Ranch Fatal Solo Traffic Collision
11:25PM 18500 Rinaldi St LAPD and LAFD responded to a traffic collision. When LAPD arrived they found a person unconscious and not breathing. LAPD began to administer CPR. LAFD arrived and determined the person was beyond medical help. LAPD has Rinaldi St shut down from reseda to Chimineas as they investigate.
North Hollywood LAPD SWAT involved hit and run stops traffic on the 170 freeway
8:15 PM Sherman Way And 170 Freeway LAPD swat units were involved in a hit-and-run on the 170 freeway. A white pick up truck hit a SWAT vehicle and began to leave the scene. Swat units brought out the Bearcats to block in the vehicle so a pursuit would not start. The suspects who appeared to be under the influence surrendered after his car was blocked in. The 170 freeway north shut down causing a back up.

104 LAFD personnel remain in defensive firefighting operations at what is known as the "Randall Fire", the blaze currently involves *one* 50' x 150' one-story commercial structure with fire through the roof, as well as parked vehicles and a large amount of vegetation and debris, with flames threatening at least two adjacent commercial structures.
