Murphy's Law of Process Serving.......

Got a call from an insurance company one time, calling on behalf of their insured who I was trying to serve. Was thoroughly prepared NOT to give an ounce of info about the papers when I called back, since most of them just try to fish for as much info as they can (but dont assist). Surprisingly I got the total opposite, he didnt ask for any info at all, yet ended up giving me the def's NEW address, so I could effect service. Couldnt believe it. Not sure what I said but it worked, I almost fell off my chair.

Support process server Joyce Jackson after attack

On Saturday, November 16th, Joyce’s life was changed forever when she was shot twice in the face while attempting to deliver a debt case. After the defendant refused service, Joyce was chased to her vehicle and the defendant was preventing her from leaving. As Joyce attempted to drive away, a woman came out to the curb and shot her through the driver’s side window, striking an artery in her jaw.
Joyce is now at home, recovering with her husband and fellow process server, Michael Jackson. While we are grateful that she survived, the emotional, physical and financial toll of this traumatic event has been devastating. Joyce will no longer be able to return to her job and her family faces significant financial challenges as they adjust to this new reality.
