Digital Matters is proud to announce that our team won the 2020 BOARD OF GOVERNORS EMMY® AWARD for our production of the short documentary, Breaking Bread Building Bridges.

The breaking Bread, Building Bridges project was conceived by the Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Commission to see what happens when people take the time to converse with one another despite their differences over one commonality all human beings share, the need to eat. Nearly 200 people registered to be a part of the project and many interviews took place before 40 persons were selected to participate.

Digital Matters was honored to take part in this project shooting, editing, as well as the post production of such an ambitious project. A huge thank you to the staff at the DM Civil and Human Rights Commission, and all of the participants. We love telling peoples stories, making it compelling, and winning an Emmy for it, well, thats just cool.

We would like to say congrats on the successful web site refresh launch! It was our pleasure to help out this great organization, Iowa Weim Rescue. They came to us looking for a fresh and clean look for their website, and that is what we gave them, we also added some extra layers of security on the backend to help control and alleviate a high volume of spam that they had been receiving.

Local activist and artist, Will Keeps called and asked if we could help him make a video for his new song,TTS(Take This Serious) about the COVID-19 situation....he wanted to know if there was any way to shoot a video and could we do it in a socially responsible and safe way, we came up with a solution that gave him a great and powerful video, and kept all of us safe.... Thanks for giving us a chance to stretch our minds to come up with a plan, and to get a camera back in our hands for a few hours.

Once again, Digital Matters was proud to produce the Iron Somm Pairings video for 2019. If you are not aware, Winefest Des Moines puts on A LOT of events throughout the year, and this is one of the bigger events. Two Somms face off and are challenged by 3 of Des Moines' top chefs to create the best pairing of wine with their creations..... This is the reveal video that we created for the event.

Academy Unveils the 4 Oscar Categories to Be Presented During Commercial Breaks

And the losers are: Cinematography, film editing, live-action short and makeup and hairstyling.

I am really not sure what the academy is thinking here.....3 of the 4 are extremely important **roles** in the process of filmmaking!!

there are a ton of awards that are presented at a luncheon, instead of making these people scurry up during a commercial break and back out, either do it at the luncheon, or during the regular awards..... don't discount their achievements this way......
