I don't think I have a month of Rocktober in me, but I did make a five day streak.

I haven't watched this in years but it felt like an old friend immediately.

"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" is the album that made me a true Maiden fan in 1988. I had "Number of the Beast" already, but this album was something different. I was a fan when it actually came out, which was exciting. It was the first "new" album I got to experience after becoming a fan.

I've missed celebrating Rocktober with everyone so every day this month, I'll be sharing a song and a story or two on Facebook (and cross posting on IG when there's photos to go along with it) about some of my favorite metal and hard rock songs, including ones I couldn't share on the radio.

To kick this off, we'll start with "Running Free" by Iron Maiden.

Remember back in the old days when nice price cassettes only had a J card with no lyrics? I got Maiden's self-titled album in 6th grade and spent a lot of time rewinding my tape in order to write these lyrics out. I'd think my handwriting has improved.

Hey everybody! I’m in quite the financial pickle. See, I can’t pay my bills this month. Even though I have applied to so many jobs in the last several months, I rarely get an interview or a call back. Sometimes I even wonder if my resume is making it to the folks who do the hiring.
