This was the first merit I ever received on an image from the PPA back in 2015. He was a blacksmith in an old town recreation village in Dallas. I'm still very proud of this one.

I shot this portrait in 2020 for my wife's new ENT position at UT Southwestern. She wanted a shot with her sister and mother, both OBGYN doctors. My mother-in-law passed in July of this year, but this photo will always stand as a testament to their family bond and hard work.⁠

"Deafness Does Not Define Me"

I spent a year creating this shot in my head, it was a competition print for PPA IPC in 2017. It earned a merit.

I wanted to show that our son Adam, who is deaf and has both a cochlear implant and a hearing aid, has not been hindered by his deafness. Adam has played many sports and is also a very accomplished violist.

Wow, last night's encore after the heavy rain concert was well worth waiting for.Of all the repertoire they could have presented us, I would not have guessed Mammatus clouds. Bravo.
