ROC Vox is the culmination of more than 20 years of dreaming about having our own business – specifically a production business.
OWNER SCOTT FITZGERALD:
I’ve been working in video production for 23 years, radio for 7 years and have been in and out of bands and recording studios since graduating from high school.
When I moved to #ROC from South Florida – I landed a sweet job as an audio producer at Jay Advertising. I got to work at their studios and even though the job only lasted 11 months, I learned invaluable skills and made friends with some of the finest people this community had to offer. Many of them are still friends and colleagues to this very day.
A series of both fortunate and unfortunate events lead to the formation of ROC Vox Recording & Production – to this wonderful space in Bushnells Basin and now this gorgeous studio.
Thankfully, I have an amazing wife and best friend in Kelly and she believed in this dream and helped me make it a reality. I am truly grateful to have such a wonderful family to help me with this business.
OWNER STEVE MILLER:
I was born and raised in Rochester, moved to Phoenix and lived there through my 20s, and then came back to the ROC to be with family and regrow roots in my hometown.
I’ve done film and video production off and on for the past 30 years (steadily for the past 6 years) and I.T. work for the past 15 years. I’ve also been writing for my entire adult life – short stories, screenplays, and a few started-but-not-finished novels.
Scott and I met on a film set and found the other halves of our brains in each other. Owning our own business has been a dream since practically the first day we met. ROC Vox is the culmination of that dream. I can truly say that it wouldn’t have happened without the incredible friendship I have with Scott (and Kelly) and the unwavering support of my wife, Diane.

3 Rode Procaster Professional Dynamic Microphones with PS-A1 Studio arms and shock mounts provide you quality sound. They each run through a dbx 286s Preamp-Compressor/Gate and DeEsser making sure it sounds a polished as a radio show!
A fourth guest is captured by a MXL V63M Studio Condenser Microphone – which has such a warm and crisp sound. That microphone runs through a dbx 286XL for quality compression ready for any and all volume fluctuations. All of this is mixed down in our Behringer Xenyx X1222USB Mixer – which has assignable effects just in case you want to get all crazy with reverb or echo!
