Okay, and? They owe her literally nothing. Not their fame, nothing. And before anyone thinks they do, they were hired for a role - a job. They brought the characters to life, it happened to be her characters that's it.

What's happened to her with a lot of the fan base is what we call in layman's terms "death of the author." Although the term, when used in academia, carries a different meaning.
