Gentlemen, I ask that you ALL watch this. This is a complete outsider describing us and our exact sentiments. This is acknowledgement and recognition that we sacrifice everything for our loved ones. And this is also why we have a group and brotherhood of fathers that is focusing on the continued successful fulfillment of all of our demands, but also on keeping you/us from being completely sapped of happeiness and enthusiasm that would ultimately lead you to be unable to continue to continue your heroic efforts. It is unsustainable if you cant keep yourself happy, fulfilled and energized. Please consider joining us! We are a growing network of fathers!

Hey all! Im interested in hearing from all of you in regards to topics we might cover and review in the group page. We choose to have these discussions and interactions in order to maintain our privacy so we can all feel comfortable to speak freely about any and all topics. I am thinking about addressing the following topics:

The psychology of being the last person you ever think of on a daily basis.
The needs and methods to find time for just yourself
Divorce
Your relationship with your spouse
Ideas for getting away
What is your position and future in your job
How can you/we change our future?
Methods to make more money and change your relationship with it
Hobbies you might like or that you may have lost in your service to your family and others

These are a few that I think may resonate. I ask that any and all of you post other ideas that may be of value. Again, These discussions, offers and opportunities will only be shared in privacy on our group page. There's no commitment or expectations with any of this.

I apologize for the late post. I just finished working and got back to my RV I’m living in. I send my best wishes to all of you for a very happy thanksgiving and ask that you all allow me to live vicariously through you while I’m away from children and family again this year. If you are willing to, please share/post with us/me photos of your thanksgiving day and some captions for them. Again, I’m sending my best thanksgiving wishes to the most amazing and reliable men in the world- you fathers. God bless all of you.

Hello all my Father Friends. In the spirit of engaging in something to take our minds off of the persistent rigors of our lives, and since I have some semblance of a musical background- I thought Id pose a related question to our group just for S's and G's.

Another enjoyable activity for me is creating something from scratch. I don’t just mean cooking. Create anything to fulfill your sense of accomplishment and to occupy your interests. Yes, you can create a meal, but creating something to fulfill yourself (and often others) might include; making music or writing a song for yourself, building a sandbox or swingset for the kids, installing new shelving in your garage, making a garden, writing a story or a book, restoring an automobile, build a patio or deck, building a bar for yourself......nearly anything! Just jump in and get absorbed in the process of the creation and marvel at your accomplishment when you finish it- Small or large creation, it doesn’t matter!

Its Fall! My favorite time of the year. I love to be outside and smell the leaves, enjoy the mix of the cool air and warm sunshine and take in the beautiful colors that fill me with joy and warmth. Great evenings for an outdoor fire with the family too. Give these pleasures a try and some of your attention. They will be inspiring and fill you with joy.

Do any of you guys work away from home? I looked back on this past year and realized that I was away from home (and my wife and children) for 9 months this past year. As this race meet winds down, the time for me to leave again is looming- just 2 weeks away. Let me share my sentiments with this. Overall, i dont like being away- this next stint is from November 1 through March 31. I miss my family terribly and I soo very much miss my children and being involved in their lives, events and experiences. Here's the quandry. When I go to New Orleans for this 5 months every year, I have the most time I ever get for myself. I take my RV, my boat, my motorcycle, my smoker and grill and my guitar and I actually get to use them and enjoy the time with these things that I really enjoy. HOWEVER, I hate missing all that I miss with the kids and being with them and involved with their everyday lives. So sometimes I wind up feeling guilty about enjoying myself and my time that I have over these months in New Orleans. I have not figured out how to reconcile this. But I do know I need to nurture myself too. I just hate being away and feeling guilty when I enjoy myself when Im not with them- the true joys of my life. Does this resonate with anyone??

Would you like to try something that will instantly make you feel good? I started, a few years ago, trying to perform random acts of kindness. One might argue that this is really a selfish thing to do because the incentive is to make yourself feel good, but I view these simple actions as much more than that. Lifting someone else up by engaging in simple actions is of benefit to you, yes, but these things make others around you and around those whom you choose to gift with your act happier and likely to consider performing a similar act for someone else. It spreads. I started these by just paying tolls for people in cars behind me in pay lanes for turnpikes and bridges. I continued evolving and have enjoyed randomly selecting people at a bar/restaurant for whom I pay their bill. I continue to find that the more unexpected the act, the more joy I seem to get from it.

Enjoy a few days or longer in an RV! I absolutely love RVing and its become very big lately. You can readily rent them, trailer or drivable, and get out on the road and see this amazing country!
