Our weekly math groups are so popular because they're effective at helping you achieve mastery of the material! After all, it's so much easier to KEEP UP than it is to CATCH UP. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Joseph Bedich to our team! Dr. Bedich earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for five years in courses ranging from Algebra to Calculus lll. He was also a Graduate Teaching Assistant for The Ohio State University and a high school Mathematics teacher at St. Frances DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Bedich is excited to work with our highest-level math students here at AVA. He currently teaches an AP Calculus AB small group class on Mondays at 5PM and offers private sessions on Mondays from 6-8PM. Congrats to AVA educator (and Point Park professor) Dr. Sean Elliot Martin, who received the Grandmaster Achievement Award at the 37th Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association's Black Belt Hall of Fame Ceremony on November 9th! 🏅This is his 26th consecutive award!

Dr. Martin has been a key part of AVA since our first year, providing individualized tutoring in English composition and literature, and running unique camps and workshops like Spy Camp, Chasing Shadows, and self-defense classes featuring his own Kage-Essensu system of survival combat.

Looking ahead, Dr. Martin is excited to offer even more services at our new location on Fort Couch Road, including additional tutoring, camps, and self-defense classes for all ages.

We are thrilled to welcome Abra Dadum to our team! Abra is a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry at West Virginia University, where her research has primarily focused on organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. Abra is available for tutoring in all levels of chemistry including O-Chem. Right now she is scheduling at our center on Saturdays and Sundays, with a 9th-grade chemistry small group already on the calendar for noon on Sundays.
