Veterans Television Network

Veterans Television Network A video and television network dedicated to the provision of educational, informational and entertai Of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

population, numbering approximately 314,000,000, there are roughly 22,000,000 veterans currently residing in the U.S as estimated by the U.S. Veterans, therefore, represent about 7% of the total population as a significant, and demographically definable, segment conforming to the same viewing habits as most Americans. The power of video to teach, inform, entertain and convince is undeniable, as is

its pervasive presence in American society. In this regard, CORTRON Media, LLC has committed itself to the development of a video and television network dedicated to the provision of educational,
informational and entertainment programming for military veterans of the United States of America and their families – Veterans Television Network and VTVN.tv. Our intention is to initiate a unique, binary approach to the provision of this network: traditional broadcast/cablecast; and, live/archived streaming on the Internet and mobile devices. In response to the controversy surrounding service provision to those who have served our country in the armed forces, we propose to provide an unbiased forum, whereby, all interested parties may discuss and address issues confronting veterans, as well as, the opportunities that are available to them. Thus, we hope to motivate both government and NGO’s to formulate creative solutions and new approaches to the provision of services. CORTRON Media further proposes to populate this network with:

 Events or programs produced by or for any of the 22 VISN’s;
 Programming and content provided by Veterans’ Service Organizations;
 Informational programming produced in order to explain VA eligibility, programs and guidelines;
 Educational and training programming featuring topical knowledge;
 Original programming, including shows dedicated to news, politics, finances, forensics, sports, consumer electronics, science etc.;
 Movies, documentaries, sporting events, dramas and sitcoms;
 Live and/or recorded coverage of Veterans Affairs Committee meetings; and,
 Live and Interactive, or recorded, Q&A sessions with VA Representatives and elected officials;

CORTRON Media is seeking the endorsement of Veterans groups, Veterans Service Organizations (VSO’s), companies, corporations, organizations and non-profit groups, as well as, veterans and interested individuals, for the concept of a television network operated for, and by, veterans.

Ron Clasky was a multiple award winning film editor, in Chicago, of documentary films, commercials, television shows, training corporate and experimental films. In 1957, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was assigned to the Army Pictorial Center, the old Paramount Studios, in Astoria, New York as a film editor.

The studio contained within its archives captured enemy footage of German and Japanese cameramen from the Second World War. Clasky's editing assignments gave him access to any of the stock footage in the vaults.He used to spend hours watching all the captured films of the N**i regime whose cameramen meticulously photographed and recorded every detail of their hideous conquest and the horrible injustices Germany's concentration camps. Clasky cringed and shook his hands violently as he told me about what he had seen. Clasky is himself Jewish and having watched these films sickened him and filled his very soul with rage.

In this streaming session, Diane speaks with a panel of psychological and behavioral health and su***de prevention outreach experts to help us understand mentally, emotionally and statistically why su***de is the choice for so many of our veterans. We also present a Public Service Announcement produced for Mr. and Mrs. Russel Crupe which shares the story of the loss of their son, SGT, Russel Lee Crupe, Jr. to the hands of su***de. Mr. and Mrs. Crupe have become strong advocates in support of finding a way to prevent veteran su***des.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) demonstrates the Army's commitment to provide support and standardized services to Active, National Guard and Reserve Families of the Fallen.

Support Coordinators function as the long term support personnel for Survivors. Support Coordinators facilitate support groups, provide life skills education, and connect Survivors with counseling resources. These Coordinators work closely with Benefits Coordinators, Casualty Assistance Officers, and other agencies to ensure Survivors receive their necessary services.

The mission of SOS is to build a unified program which embraces and reassures Survivors that they are continually linked to the Army Family for as long as they desire.
