My modest book haul from STC Authorcon St. Louis. I'm excited to read all of them. Though I wanted to get books from every table there, I mostly regret no picking up titles by Asher Darks, Cassandra Celia, and Brady Sadler. I meant to get books by them, but those events are crazy and I get overwhelmed and distracted. Well, there's always the next event. In the meantime, I'll get to reading this stack. And I'll write reviews along the way.

I'll be at Act 2 Books in Flemington, NJ this coming Saturday, October 12th, for the Scary Stories Bookfest. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., I'll be signing books and selling Gloom House releases beside a bunch of other authors.

Aaron Lebold drove from Ontario to Pennsylvania, crashed at our place, then joined me for the long roadtrip to Authorcon in St. Louis. It was quite an adventure. Aaron and I have known each other since 2018 or so, when we wrote for the same publisher. Later, when we switched publishers, we again found ourselves with the same one. And when I started Gloom House Publishing, Aaron's novel, Genocide, was our third release. Since then, he has published four books with us and a few for other publishers. It was very cool getting to know him in person, and I hope to attend more events with him in the future. The St. Louis Authorcon had a significantly different vibe than the Williamsburg event, but some of my favorite people in the scene were there. We sold enough books to justify the table, with some left for gas, tolls, and road snacks. After a ridiculously long day and night of travel, we made it back to my house at 3 a.m. We got a few hours of sleep, then Aaron hit the road for the nine-hour drive back to his place in Canada. Looking forward to working on his next Gloom House release, Pacheco Pass, due out sometime in 2025.
