HYPE (Homewood • Youth • Power • Engaged) Media is a digital literacy project based in Homewood, a Black neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA. Our team is comprised of Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy students from the Homewood Children Village’s Scholar Project and University of Pittsburgh graduate students and professors. HYPE Media helps youth learn more about who they are and where they are from so they can influence community unity and change. #WeAreHYPE about youth spreading their word and acting on it through critical literacy and digital media skills.
