Today I'm going to start a new tradition. I will be adding pictures of the plants I used to create the tissue culture plants in the lab aka explants. First up is this Philodendron serpens. Having just unfurled this lovely leaf, it is a perfect feature for this new post topic.

Anansi was definitely molting. He came very close to the edge of his fort today to drink. Then, he decided today was not the day for coming out. His old pajamas are to his right but difficult to see. In going he will be out and about in the next few days.

Big News Everybody! We are moving April 1st.

We will be closed March 23rd through April 5th to execute the move.

First day home for this little guy! Anansi is a male Phidippus Regius, a type of jumping spider. This species has a reputation for being even tempered and a good beginner spider. Anansi has not disappointed at all. Totally in love with my spood 😍

Hello Everybodeee!! Big changes are on the horizon. I will tell you all more as the details are finalized.

That said. We will be closed on Saturdays for the next few months. We will still be available for orders and pickups by appointment.

We are getting a jump on the growing season with our first vendor show of the year. Come check our table out!!

Coming soon! Oxalis season!!! I will have regnelii, triangularus, iron cross and a few that ended up like this and look like a hybrid of regnelii and triangularus. Hopefully a few rare types pop up soon.

Not a typical starter plant. This gorgeous Philodendron Red Heart is overly dramatic, humidity loving and temperamental. It will attempt to give up on living if you move it, change the humidity, repot, cut or even look at it wrong (joking?). When happy these stunning leaves make it all worth it. ❤️

Philodendron Patriciae loving the new roomier pot. This lovely lady is not for the faint of heart. She demands humidity and would rather give up on life than meet you halfway. Those long strappy leaves make it worth it. 😍
