Today I'm going to start a new tradition. I will be adding pictures of the plants I used to create the tissue culture plants in the lab aka explants. First up is this Philodendron serpens. Having just unfurled this lovely leaf, it is a perfect feature for this new post topic.

Spring is in the air, and Sarracenia flowers are wild.
Anansi was definitely molting. He came very close to the edge of his fort today to drink. Then, he decided today was not the day for coming out. His old pajamas are to his right but difficult to see. In going he will be out and about in the next few days.
I'm so excited! We will be offering so much more than our current location has allowed. More details will be coming soon. Keep watching for updates.

This newest Anthurium Ace of Spades leaf is just stunning.
Anansi is feel more comfortable today. He comes around to watch me when I come in his room. Better for this stalking momma to photograph 🤣
First day home for this little guy! Anansi is a male Phidippus Regius, a type of jumping spider. This species has a reputation for being even tempered and a good beginner spider. Anansi has not disappointed at all. Totally in love with my spood 😍

This Easter cactus is just loving its new spot.
Not a typical starter plant. This gorgeous Philodendron Red Heart is overly dramatic, humidity loving and temperamental. It will attempt to give up on living if you move it, change the humidity, repot, cut or even look at it wrong (joking?). When happy these stunning leaves make it all worth it. ❤️
