Custom made gooseneck for switch-n-go. The all sits 6” behind the rear axle however with this 30k trailer maxed out with a SVL 97, and 3 sycamore logs measuring 45” diameter x 10’ long, you would never guess it by how everything handles.

A good example of how wood will dry if the ends are not sealed. This white oak tree was cut down about 4 years ago and had been sitting waiting to be milled. By sealing the ends of a log, the moisture is kept from escaping too rapidly and allows for more even drying.

Not all logs that look bad are. Here are a few examples of logs that have been sitting around for 25+ years. This is now always the case however if the conditions are right, the log can be somewhat preserved leaving the inside with tons of character. If in question if a log is good, contact a local sawyer to have them come out and take a look. You never know what the inside may hold. Thanks for bringing this maple back to life.
