Time for an announcement 📢
As some know, I have been shipped around the country for jobs in broadcast news for almost 9 years 🚗 I went to Jackson, Mississippi, all the way to Billings, Montana, back south to Tallahassee, Florida, then made a stop in my hometown, and finally found my way to the coast of Mississippi. This job and dream have been a whirlwind. A lot of great times, some not-so-great times, but that’s life right?
So here it is— I’m leaving broadcast news! My last day is tomorrow, April 18. Have no fear though, I won’t be leaving Mississippi anytime soon. Thanks to my husband, I get to be a stay-at-home cat and dog mom 🐱🐶 (temporarily at least 😉)! That’s not all… I’ll have time to learn from my mom on how to use a sewing machine. I’ll get to go fishing 🎣 on a Tuesday with my dad. I’ll be able to make it to my nieces’ and nephews’ games, birthdays, graduations, etc. I’ll have Thursday nights free to go to a concert 🥁 And my favorite one? I’ll get to spend more time with my best friend, Jeffrey.
I’m glad I gave broadcast news and sports a shot. If you were to ask me if I would change anything… I’d say no. The path I’ve taken did indeed take me far away. It caused me to miss out on things. But I gained a lot that has helped me become the person I am today. Yes, the experiences helped teach me— e.g. having roommates, being in relationships, moving to a state I’ve never been to, trekking through snow, 6-man football, ACC football, cultures, mountains, beaches, etc. but the best part? The people. I’ve met some of the greatest humans who have become some of the most amazing friends. And it’s all because I decided to take this wild journey.
Special thanks to my husband, my rockstar parents, my siblings, my in-laws, my current and former coworkers, and my friends from back home for having my back, taking time to come see me, and just loving me when I was really far away ❤️
As for what’s next…? Uhhhh… anybody hiring?!?!? 😆
