Sometimes the best stories unfold when you step away from the screen and dive into the real world.
I was reflecting on my career path and how a camera changed everything. It made me step away from the screen and go out into the world to capture real things. Now what fuels my passion is the excitement around who I will film next and where the camera will take me.
Was there anything that changed your career path?

“One of major challenges is breaking through the clutter.” - Justin Hudson, M.S. (Associate Director of Marketing at Children’s Literacy Initiative) and I talk about what challenges most marketers face.
Justin brings up that typically, most marketers use a spray and pray approach to attracting a community. His mindset differs now with focusing on the people that really want to engage and align with CLI’s mission.
This brings up the question: Would you rather have a larger audience or a more engaged audience? For upcoming talks on the future of #marketing, connect for more

“What series of actions can you put together to change the behavior of audiences, to get them to move how you want them to move?” - Justin Hudson, M.S. (Associate Director of Marketing at Children’s Literacy Initiative) on how to strategically think about marketing if you are just getting started.

A stroke changes your life — and the life of your loved ones. May was National Stroke Awareness month and inspired CDI Filmworks in collaboration with Nick Orris of @orrisproductions to create a spec commercial for the American Stroke Association, a division of @american_heart. Nick developed the storyline as a reflection of his personal experiences. We hope this commercial spreads awareness about aphasia and that there is life—and hope—after a stroke.
“Being a creative is being able to look at things from a different perspective than maybe a business would have…” - Wade Walton (Executive Producer and Director at Avantor) on how creatives fit in the corporate world.

“You have to condition an audience to come back for more content. If you put out one video and never put out another piece of video, no one is coming back.” - John Zimmerman (ZIMM Productions) on keeping people’s attention.
John makes a great point, that building an audience is a steady grind. Someone could get lucky and have a post go viral on TikTok, but most of the time you have to constantly be putting out content on multiple platforms, using one platform to grow another platform. What have your audience growth experiences been like?
