Giving Tuesday is just around the corner, and it would mean the world to have your support this giving season. We've been working hard to build this organization into an entity that not only produces amazing films about nature that raise awareness, but more importantly - gives back to nature in unique and powerful ways.

This year, we're raising funds to tell several incredible stories and to support the research and work of a few amazing people and organizations. We're developing projects around Mexican gray wolves, another around an incredible group of women working with orca, a film for the Phoenix Zoo, and finishing a documentary about western burrowing owls (which could be listed as endangered soon).

Every year we spend so much time and money on Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday deals. We all feel good getting a good deal don't we? But what if we put some of that money towards a good cause? What if some of that money went towards supporting imperiled wildlife by giving to Reel Earth Films and seeing it truly make a difference? How good would it feel to see your donation go towards making a difference for wolves, orca, burrowing owls, and other incredible species?

Consider making a donation to Reel Earth Films this giving season, whether it's Giving Tuesday or not - your support can make an impact for wildlife.

(If you'd like to give in a more powerful and impactful way, please don't hesitate to send us a message! Lets talk about making a difference for wildlife conservation!)

Yesterday, July 18th was the premier of “Welcome Home”, a film I produced with Reel Earth Films for the Endangered Species Coalition about a world first in wolf recovery…

An imperiled species is returning to the landscape as a result of direct democracy. And it’s all happening in Colorado!

My interview with Ryan Sedgely from the Endangered Species Coalition for 9NEWS (KUSA)

https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/colorado-wolves/colorado-wolf-reintroduction-documentary/73-4d5b5a95-2731-434a-ad9d-33645c777e02

“Welcome Home” premiered to a full house of conservationists, Colorado officials, and other wolf lovers both young and young at heart.

It was so meaningful to spread the word about the importance of peaceful coexistence between wolves and people of all walks of life, including indigenous tribes, conservationists, ranchers, and more.

Cheers,

Alan

P.S. Looking for some high quality education on wildlife conservation and the art of natural history filmmaking for your event or organization? Message me and we’ll talk about how Reel Earth Films can create a talk tailored to your needs!

The Endangered Species Coalition's new film "Welcome Home" premiered Thursday in Denver.

Awooooooooh!

This is my attempt at putting the sound of a wolf howl in words. I'm much better at howling in person. But I digress...

The point is, Reel Earth Films is ecstatic to be part of wolf recovery across the world. Friday, Wolf Connection is dropping a podcast we did together around the short wolf recovery film I produced on behalf of the Endangered Species Coalition , "Welcome Home".

Check out the podcast Friday and be sure to follow Wolf Connection for high-value content on wolves!

P.S. Will I see you in Denver tonight?! "Welcome Home" premiers at 7 pm at the Sie Film Center, will a panel discussion to follow. Save your spot while you can through the Endangered Species Coalition website.

Cheers,

Alan

Did you know that humans shared a home with wolves for thousands of years?

Many of our ancestors would have even shared their meals with wolves, with both species inhabiting the top of the food chain. Fear has made us forget this fact. Fear of wolves has caused human beings to push wolves to the brink of extinction.

Now, for the first time in history, Coloradans are bringing wolves back home! And you get to be a part of this defining moment in wolf recovery.

I’m thrilled to announce Reel Earth Film’s partnership with the Endangered Species Coalition to tell the story of wolves returning to Colorado through the soul-stirring 20-minute film, “Welcome Home”.

On July 18th, join me in Denver at the “Welcome Home” film premier held by the Endangered Species Coalition.

For the first time, arguably ever in the world, the people have voted to bring an imperiled species back to the landscape. It started in Colorado back in 2020 when the majority of voters said “YES! We want a peaceful coexistence with wolves!”

As the director of this film, it’s my mission to show you how sharing a landscape with wolves means a healthier, more vibrant ecosystem for all living species. Even if you never have the privilege of crossing paths with a wolf in real life, I want this film to help you remember the awe our ancestors felt walking foot to paw with this incredible human relative.

The “Welcome Home” Film Premier: Thursday, July 18th, at 7 p.m. at the Sie Film Center in Denver, Colorado. I’ll introduce “Welcome Home,” followed by a panel discussion with experts featured in the film. RSVP now while you still can through the Endangered Species Coalition!

Stay tuned for what’s next for our wolf conservation films and campaigns. In the meantime, watch our multiple award-winning documentary, “Grey Area: Wolves of the Southwest” and consider making a tax-deductible donation to wolf recovery [SEE LINKS].

Cheers,

Alan

P.S. Yufna Soldier Wolf, pictured, was at the Yellowstone Wolf Reintroductions with her father in the '90s. It was an honor to feature her story and her Arapaho tribe's ancient familial bond with wolves in "Welcome Home".

For the Love of the Big, Bad, Wolf…. Or is it?

I’m bringing you back to the beginning of my wildlife career with wolves. Learn why they matter for the ecosystem, and how they can connect you to what makes life worth living. You’ll also see how a 10-year-old “Nature Boy” grew into a wildlife filmmaker with zero experience-and a whole lot of love.

Join me at 3 pm PST/6 pm EST for a live on the big, bad wolf! Spoiler alert: wolves are actually not bad. They're part of the reason I do what I do as a wildlife filmmaker and conservationist. Learn why this afternoon!

P.S. Enjoy this heartwarming clip from my multiple award-winning debut film, "Grey Area: Wolves of the Southwest". Who says science can't be adorable?

Have you seen my film on wolverines yet? It's FREE for everyone to watch over on our website: www.reelearthfilms.org/wolverine One of the biggest parts of our mission at Reel Earth Films is to support on-the-ground-conservation work that is featured in our films! So instead of renting or buying the film, we've set it up so you can make a tax-deductible gift to support the work of the biologists we filmed, and the important work they are doing to conserve wolverines in Oregon. Help us give back to conservation in a meaningful and powerful way! Other ways to support is to copy and paste this message and share with your friends and family!

Seeing lives means saving lives.

A critical part of biologists Kayla and Scott Shivelys' lifesaving work is monitoring wolverine activity, deep Oregon's Wallowa Mountains.

This photo shows the small and mighty husband and wife team setting up a run pole. Run poles are remote camera sites that include tasty bait and scent lures to attract wolverines, identity them, collect DNA samples, and identify signs of reproduction, such as lactation.

This scientific equipment is essential for finding out how well this threatened species is recovering from a significant decline in population over the past 80 years.

Learn more about the science behind wolverine recovery in our multiple award-winning film, "The Lone Wolverine of the Wallowas".

You can stream the film for free and donations towards this production will go directly to supporting Kayla and Scott's work!

Watch the film, discover more about its mission, and see exactly where your tax-deductible donation dollars go by visiting our Wolverine Impact Campaign Page [SEE LINKS].

Alan
