A South Carolina man received a reduced sentence after pleading guilty to having s*x and prostituting hundreds of Black girls, the Atlanta Black Star reports.
Jason Roger Pope, also known as “DJ Kidd” pleaded guilty to five counts of s*x trafficking of a minor, five counts of criminal s*xual conduct, and three counts of criminal s*xual conduct last summer. The charges stemmed from Pope’s s*x trafficking of minors from 2017 to 2019, including 693 underage Black girls, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said Pope also intentionally infected one of the victims with HIV.
Pope was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but the sentence was suspended to 19 years. Following his release from prison, Pope will be on s*x offender probation for five years as special s*x offender agents monitor him.
The DJ will also be listed on the S*x Offender Registry and is prohibited from contacting all of the identified victims.
