Hello and happy Monday! ✨✨ As we kick off the week, we wanted chat about the importance of the work environment you may find yourself in. Why? Becasue this can correlate to where you find yourself the most productive. There are so many factors that are playing into our different work environments that could potentially cause distraction or even discomfort. While some of these may be unavoidable, many are! 💡

First things first, everyone is different. What works for her, may not work for you. What works for your coworker, may not work for you! What works for your friends, may not work for YOU! 😅

Try out different lighting, seats, desks, times, coffee shops, decor, planners. Whatever it is, there are endless options and resources available to help you be the most productive as possible. Practically, here are a few tips that might help you along the way.

1. Give your gadgets a home. 📱 While you may have some necessary for your work, put away and limit whatever you don't need. Smartphones, tablets and other gadgets can help you stay organized and efficient, but they can also be a big distraction and time waster. The best way to avoid this wasted time is to find a home for gadgets and LEAVE them there. 

2. Create opportunities for movement. 🏃🏼‍♀When you have hit a wall of productivity, make sure to move around and reposition yourself to be thinking in new, creative ways. This will help you stay focused and right on task!

3. Make your space personal. 🌻 Wherever you find yourself working, try and add some visual appeal to your workspace. Whether that's organizing the coffee shop table the way you like it or having a complete set up on your desk, work around what you like to look at.

We've got some tips for you coming from our Podcast Manager, Em! Maybe you've been struggling with really hooking your podcast audience. Looking to grow in this area? We got you! Let's get started... 💭

1. Leave people asking questions in your show notes and copy. Doing this, you have the leverage and can easily persuade them to listen to your episode and hopefully gain a loyal follower 💫

2. Pay attention to how you're promoting your podcast on social media. Make sure that you are reaching your audience and ideal clients on their preferred social media platform. Do they love Facebook? start a Facebook community. Have a significantly younger audience? Try making reels or TikTok's! ⚡️

3. Make sure you're reaching your audience. How?? Offer free resources for listening to your episodes, do polls on social media (Ex: "What topics do you want to hear me talk about? What should we talk about this week?"), and reply back to DM's or comments on social media.📱

All of these things will build a strong connection with your audience and result in a lean in to your podcast! 🎙

It's been a hot minute since I have popped in just to introduce myself! And with a handful of new faces, I thought this was the perfect time for a 🤩

Pivot started a few years ago after I hit rock bottom with PPD. I was a stay at home mom, enneagram 8 (where my 8's at!) that needed to do more than mom - don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom. But

📚Books give me life! And right now I am reading all of books. SO GOOD!

🖤 I am an extreme extrovert. It takes A LOT for me to hit my tap out moment with other humans.

🎲 Catan is my jam. We have game nights weekly. It is an addiction at this point.

If you are part of the working-online world in any capacity, you likely (ok, definitely) spend a majority of your time working behind a screen 🖥️ Between writing, planning, emailing, social media, and all the other things you might find yourself doing ... Remember to take care of yourself! You come first!

Here are 3 simple ways you can do that:

👓 Blue light glasses - These are GAME CHANGERS. Not only are they super cute, but they help improve your sleep + reduce headaches.

◼️Time block - Google this. It will bring such freedom into your rhythm. Trust us!

📱Turn it off - Yupppp. We said it. And this is something our team actively practices. It is OK to turn off your screen (phone included!) Working from home is amazing and gives SO much flexibility to your schedule. BUT that does not mean that you have to be available 24/7. Just like you would leave your work at the office, leave it in its place at home!

In the PR industry, nothing is going to set you up for more success than some good research. 📈 This principle is something we've all been told for most of our lives. All winning efforts begin with preparation. 🥇 Preparation in the realm of PR = RESEARCH!

There are no substitutes for research and careful planning in your PR work. Strategy is something you will want to prioritize with public relations management. Why? This guarantees that your communication will specifically target your intended audience who want, need, or care about the content/message you are putting out.

A few tips when researching include:

▪️Study PR campaigns that you would like to take inspiration from. See how other people are winning! Nothing wrong with grabbing inspiration from the people around you to get to thinking and strategizing how you want to approach your own work.

▪️See what the competition is up to and think about outmaneuvering them. Becoming aware of your competition, in a healthy way, pushes you to be on your A game, striving to win in your specific field.

▪️Incorporate research into your work week consistently. This will help prevent becoming stagnant and simply mimicking your own success. Bring research into your weekly routine for fresh, relevant, and a updated understanding of where your business is headed.

Scenario: you’ve have sent a dozen emails to potential media opportunities sharing about who you are, your message, and the value you can bring to someones audience. And ... CRICKETS 🦗 No one is getting back to you! We get it. It is incredibly frustrating. 😩

But have you considered a more personal approach when you follow up on your pitch? The device you hold in your hands is a powerful tool you can use to connect with potential media opportunities on a more intentional level. 📱

There are 2 platforms outside of email that you can use to cultivate a deeper connection with media:

🖤 Pop in their DM's - send a personal note just raving about them + their brand. Focus 95% of the message on them, and then mention you would love to connect about partnering up on their platform. And don't be afraid to send an audio message. We have found this to be such a unique way to really connect with people!

🤍 Get on LinkedIn - This is another fun way to connect with someone that many don't think about. We cannot tell you the amount of contacts we have built through using this platform. Don't knock it because it isn't trending!

📣 And listen, be confident friend! You will hear crickets as you pitch yourself, and sometimes you will get a straight up no - but don't take anything personal! Keep being you, doing you, and spreading your message. It WILL land in all the right places! ✨

Let’s talk about podcast shownotes — have you ever struggled landing the perfect copy for an episode? 😆

Shownotes can be tedious, but they are SO important! Because they give your listener an overview of the content in your episode. This gives them a good understanding of the point and purpose of what you have to share! 🎙

Sooo, we got you! Here are 3 tips for making your shownotes shine ✨

1. Make your opening statement or question memorable — When people are reading about the episode, you want them to be able to relate, that way, they’re more likely to want to listen because they feel connected.

2. Keep the language consistent — A big part of writing show notes is being able to take their language from Instagram, their website, and their blog and turn keep it consistent throughout their shownotes so the episode is hitting their demographic of people.

3. Cliff hangers aren’t bad — Throw one in if you can! Tell half of the story and make them want to listen to find out what else happens.
