Fantastic story, there are so many incidents of cetaceans approaching human divers for help. They obviously understand we are capable of recognizing their need and. accomplishing the rescue. There is no other conclusion.

A s***m whale approached a group of divers, seemingly asking for help with a whole bunch of trash tangled in its mouth. Luckily, a diver was able to remove it.

This bipartisan bill, championed by chief sponsor David Gomberg, Our State Representative (D-10), and Oregon’s Coastal and Environmental Caucuses, will help protect the health and biodiversity of marine ecosystems for all Oregonians to enjoy in the future. HB 4132 is now off to Governor Kotek, who is expected to sign it into law.

Oregon Shores championed the bill as a founding member of the Oregon Ocean Alliance, which is a coalition of organizations working together to advance shared priorities aimed at advancing the protection of Oregon’s ocean and coastal ecosystems. The new law marks the first major victory of the Alliance’s collective work. Additional founding members include the Audubon Society of Lincoln Cit, Bird Alliance of Oregon, Coast Range Association, Environment Oregon, The Nature Conservancy in Oregon, Surfrider Foundation Oregon Chapters, and Oceana
