Not only was her performance phenomenal, we loved how funny, and relatable she was on and off the stage.🙌🏾 From her hit single "cash" that kicked off during the pandemic to Susan bringing us to CHURRRCCCHHH, she overdelivered with her vocal capabilities and runnnssss. Whats going on Family! Lets recap the experience at rhe Disruptors Summit 👇🏾 Yall we had us a timmmeee! Day 1️⃣ of the Black Enterprise Disruptors Summit we focused on connecting with the hundreds of entrepreneurs that were at the welcome reception. The multiple food bars and vibrant ambiance was breathtaking. We saw that @pronghorn.co ensured that the Black Owned liquor brands were in the building! We were loving on that Greenwood Whiskey so bad 🥵 (we're actually obsessed) those drinks had us doing the 1..2.. step every chance we got. We even had the opportunity to connect with some of the founders of the brand @greenwoodwhiskey 🙌🏾 Issa #winwin Day 2️⃣- We were geared up to catch all things Cam'ron (@mr_camron) Being from the East Coast it was a no-brainer Cam was going to come with the drip on. I love how he wore the Milano Di Rouge (@iammilanrouge) latest collab with (@dolcegabbana), none the less Cam dropped gems on how to take over the game with mixtapes and DVDs, how his relationship with Dame Dash is and how his current role in his business venture with Ma$e. We also enjoyed @nickcannon perspective on business and being a disruptor in the entertainment industry. We loved the insightful questions Selena Hill @msselenahill asked in addition to keeping the crowd engaged. These visionaries really shook the room! From the breakout sessions, to the one on one coaching everything was extremely dynamic! Thank you @chantaljones_esq for the invite and always amazing catching up with @siyaolivia. This Summit hosted by @blackenterprise and @nationwide was top notch and it's amazing to see @beloved1906 and the team at @toppsprfirm execute this seamlessly. As a first time business owner you often don't have 👇🏾 A Team 🤷🏾‍♀️ Sometimes you are literally every part of your team from customer service, to sales, to product development, marketing, the Ceo and the janitor all bundled into one. We know it can get exhausting 🥵 here are some things that can help when you do not have a team to help you run your business on a day to day 1️⃣ Employ Interns - Believe it or not you can create an internship program for your business that helps you leverage and delegate tasks that can easily be done by an intern within your industry or college students looking to earn experience and professional reference letters 2️⃣ Hire Subcontractors or create a collaborative partnership - Let someone else do the heavy lifting, but ensure they can provide the same high quality your clients expect from you 3️⃣ Barter or exchange services with other businesses - now this can get sticky, I'd even add onto this make sure it's a written agreement JV (joint venture) or EFS (exchange for service) agreement made before entertaining this option. Entrepreneurs/Business owners it does get easier as you are able to obtain capital (funds) for your business to hire accordingly. If you are still doing all the jobs required to make your dream a reality, make sure you incorporate some REST. You can't be everything to everyone. Take inventory of your energy. This week has been amazing and truly inspiring let me tell you how👇🏾 On Monday night we had the opportunity to attend the private screening of "Diarra From Detroit" @diarrafromdetroitofficial a new Series premiering on BET+ ( @betplus) March 21st and when I say this left me laughing, shocked, and wanting more I was hooked by the Q&A. Dominque Perry (@dominquep) broke down how this character she played on this series allowed for her to display all the true sides to her, while Bryan Terrell Clark (@therealbtc) spoke about how authentic this role was for him on a personal note, stating "I never had a character that was written to cater me in real time." It was beautiful to see how host Dani Canada (@iamdanicanada) moved through the crowd and was super engaging with the entire room, ensuring to reach everyone in the theater effortlessly. Hands down Diarra (@diarraoni) you've got another award on your hands with this one! Whats going on Family!! This weekend we were invited by @thecreativeacademyatl to stop by their "Unapologetically Her" Panel and it was amazing! We love hearing from other women in the industry and their experiences in navigating their careers. Here are the top 3 things we learned 👇🏾 1️⃣ - Pop doesn't mean just "pop music genre" pop IS popular music. Don't let any industry corner you in based on genre, if you make popular music, you're pop! 2️⃣ - Have a good legal team to reference to when you are confused about verbiage in contracts or documents. The entertainment business is already tricky enough, you proper guidance to make sure you understand your ROI 3️⃣ - Find one nichè and stick to it. While you can create multiple streams of income and that's important, get GREAT at one thing, so multiple revenue streams can be generated from that one thing you are already a master at ⚡️BONUS TIP⚡️ Have fun and build with the team you started with, make sure no one gets too complacent, even when you reach the top!
