CrossFit Rail Stop Goal-based community fitness provider offering Personal Training, Nutritional & Group Coaching

CrossFit Rail Stop draws its name from the history of Falcon, Colorado. According to the county website, "Falcon was founded in September 1888 as a rail stop that served the nearby Franceville and McFerran coal mines as well as the mines owned by the Rock Island railroad." Today, the nearby Rock Island Trail follows the abandoned railroad from Falcon to Peyton, CO, with future expansion plans and

the hope to connect to the trail's continuation in Colorado Springs. The trail is a town attraction and promotes fitness and community spirit... exactly what we hope to promote at CrossFit Rail Stop!

Meet May, a remarkable example of dedication and the power of a supportive fitness community! May’s journey to Rail Stop Fitness began in July 2023 with a desire to find a gym close to home with group classes. “I wanted to work out with other people. With so many classes at different times, I had no excuse not to get back in shape,” she shared.
Before joining, May's fitness routine was inconsistent. “I had all the weights, bands, kettlebell, treadmill, etc., at home, but trying to work out in my basement with an app on my phone wasn’t working. I’d get distracted by my dog, chores, TV, and work. I wasn’t self-motivated and would do a soft workout that didn’t even make me sweat. I hadn’t worked out since COVID, so I decided to get back into it.”
Since joining Rail Stop Fitness, May has achieved remarkable consistency. “I plan my work and life around my gym schedule and because I’ve committed to doing that, it works for me. I’m not being a slacker anymore,” she said proudly.
One of her biggest accomplishments is mastering the wall handstand. “I was afraid of being upside down before, and now I’m not! My goal is to get toned and avoid injury.” Although she doesn’t have a favorite movement, she’s proud of not fearing the 35lb barbell anymore.
May’s favorite aspect of Rail Stop Fitness is the community. “I love seeing regulars and really enjoy the people. They are all very supportive, friendly, and have such unique lives. I love the partner workouts because they change up the routine.” This community has turned into some amazing new friendships. “Whether it’s the 9am class, Saturday class, weekly Run Clubs, I get to see different people all the time. I love how people say, ‘See you tomorrow,’ at the end of class to keep us motivated.”
For those hesitant about joining, May says: “I didn’t even know what CrossFit was when I joined. I joined because there were group classes. If I can do it, anyone can. I like the challenge of getting out of my comfort zone and doing new things, like the Murph Challenge. I’d never heard of it, and here I am, excited to do it again!” Congratulations and thank you to May for being our Spotlight Athlete and sharing your inspiring fitness journey!

Meet Ginger, an amazing example of what dedication and a supportive community can achieve! Ginger, like many of us, found herself wanting to feel better. She saw our Facebook post calling women who were ready to take charge of their health, and it was a sign.

While Ginger had worked out in the past, consistency was a challenge, pointing out, “I found myself doing less and less, and when I did work out, I didn’t push myself.” Ginger would do her best to stay active by hiking on the weekends, however, her desk job meant a lot of sitting, and she knew she needed a change.

Since joining the gym, Ginger has seen a fantastic transformation in her health. Her stamina has soared, and she's adopted a more mindful approach to eating. This newfound focus on overall wellness is a major win! Additionally, Ginger recently achieved a personal goal she'd been chasing for 2 years – touching her toes with her legs straight!

Strength and performance are also on the rise for Ginger. While she doesn’t have any specific strength goals, Ginger is regularly on our monthly Committed Club list. Her consistent attendance has led to her being even more active, noting, “I just know that I feel better and stronger.” Ginger credits the supportive coaches as playing a big role in her success. “They prioritize proper form and tailor workouts to individual needs, ensuring progress without injury.”

Ginger doesn’t see herself as a competitive person, but completing a full workout within the allotted time is a personal victory! Ginger points to the gym community as also contributing to her successes. "The other athletes are very encouraging and welcoming," finding inspiration from everyone around her. She highlights Camille and Missy as her biggest cheerleaders.

If you're considering joining a gym but feeling hesitant, Ginger encourages, "come observe a class and see how much the coaches care, how the workouts are tailored to the athlete, and how even when everyone is huffing and puffing, there is comradery. It may be hard, new, or intimidating, but it is worth it!" Congratulations and thank you to Ginger for being our current Spotlight Athlete and sharing your fitness journey!

Congratulations to Coach Jeff and Coach Marissa!! They competed in the Masters Olympic Weightlifting Championship in Reno this weekend... Jeff is the National Champion in his age group and weight class winning the clean and jerk competition and runner up on sn**ch. Marissa was second in the nation as the National Champion on clean and jerk and runner up on sn**ch!! Well done coaches, we're so proud of you!!

Meet Kyrin, our first Spotlight Athlete for 2024! Kyrin wasn't just searching for a gym, she was craving a fitness family. Bouncing between solo workouts and dwindling motivation, Rail Stop Fitness offered a life-changing solution. "Gyms felt intimidating," Kyrin admits, "but here, everyone cheers each other on!"

Before coming to the Rail Stop Fitness, Kyrin's cardio lagged, but thanks to supportive coaches and a motivating community, she’s now crushing the cardio workouts! Kyrin’s favorite lift at the gym is the deadlift and no doubt her deadlift progress is equally impressive as her cardio improvements, soaring from 195lbs to a remarkable 251lbs in just a year! "My biggest achievements are conquering cardio and seeing my deadlift skyrocket!"

But even beyond the numbers, Kyrin discovered belonging. "The community is my favorite thing," she declares. "Everyone knows me, and I know them. It's like a big family cheering you on!" Gym buddy Misha adds to the support system, pushing Kyrin further with her positive encouragement.

If someone were on the fence about joining the gym, Kyrin's message is clear: "Come for the amazing people and coaches, stay for the supportive community and fun workouts!" Congratulations and thank you Kyrin for being our first 2024 Spotlight Athlete!
