Good Tuesday morning! I have to say that seeing more daylight earlier in the morning makes it feel like summer is right around the corner. Temps are slowing making their way up with highs in the 60s and 70s over the next few days. Also, counting down to trout season this weekend. Looks like construction season at Crooked Lake will start soon. Make sure you plan for it.

MDOT Road Construction is set to begin Monday, April 21, 2025, on US-31 from Graham Rd to Blumke Rd. There are two separate types of traffic control that will be on going during this time.

US-31: Graham Rd to N. Conway Rd – Shoulder Closures during daytime work. Single Lane Closures during night work, 8:00pm to 6:00am. (BLUE)
US-31: N. Conway Rd to Blumke Rd – Road Closed (RED), Local Traffic Only. Detour Route for US-31 traffic: N. Conway Rd to Powers Rd (YELLOW)

Areas seeing snow coming down, so along with the snow and wind, visibility is an issue on the roads today as we continue a winter weather advisory some quite a few counties. Good Monday morning! Johnny Miller here, and it looks like we are seeing most with power back up and running, overall, in northern Michigan this morning. Still almost 6000 without power, but it looks like total restoration will come soon. Schools open and on time this morning. Weatherwise, we can expect snow tonight and wind over the next few days.

Venture North Funding & Development: Emergency Mini Grants: Emmet + Charlevoix County
Small businesses in Emmet and Charlevoix counties impacted by the March 28, 2025 ice storm are now eligible to apply for urgent mini grants to aid in their recovery. This initiative, led by the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation,Charlevoix County Community Foundation, and several local organizations, offers financial assistance to businesses with immediate needs caused by the storm. Grants range from $500 to $1,500 and are available until funds are exhausted. To apply, businesses must meet eligibility criteria, including being located in Emmet or Charlevoix counties and having no more than nine employees.
