So, our furnace has been booming and banging loudly for the last several days. Well, tonight I started wondering if there could be something serious like carbon monoxide and I realized a few of us had mentioned not feeling well, so after acquiring adultier opinions than my own, I called 911 and they sent the fire department to check.

I had to evacuate the house quickly, we huddled in our cars, and they checked. No leak here or at the neighbors, thankfully.

Having a leak was not a risk I could take. I know carbon monoxide can kill you before you know it's happening, and my mind went down a very dark path of Jareth being the most vulnerable out of us. I'm glad I called and I'm even more glad there isn't a silent death leak happening.

Now it's time to get the house back to bed and hope they forgive me for dragging them out at 2am.

We got to take Jareth to an Indy Eleven game thanks to A Kid Again - Indiana Chapter and we had a blast! They won!

One year ago today we received the life-changing news that Jareth has cancer. 1 year. It is so hard to believe that we have come this far, that we have made it through all the obstacles along the way. I'm incredibly grateful that we still have this incredible young man on this Earth.

Ready to tackle another year, and many more to come.

Post-Appointment Update:

The tumor has not grown! His weight is stable! We are getting set up with a bunch of services to help him as he continues recovering from radiation, and will continue doing 3 month scans to monitor the tumors.

We are HAPPY with STABLE!!!!

Jareth has his 3 month MRI today and they decided to use anesthesia to get clearer imaging. We have had a long day, left home before 6, got here a bit before 8, waited foreeeveerr, and now he is back being scanned. Hoping we get good news, even if it's just 'stable'.

REQUEST: Hello all, we could use some help with nutritional drinks or the snacks on this wishlist! He is down a couple of pounds (I believe because he is being more active) and we need to get his weight back up before his appointment on August 3rd! He really wants to avoid the NG tube being put back in! Thanks so much!

Anything on this list, or the bolthouse farms C-Boost drinks would help GREATLY!

I really hate to make posts asking for help. You guys have no idea how much it sucks being in this position but we are in a tight spot financially. We have been going in the negative almost weekly, it seems like we can't ever catch up with all the bills. It's nearly impossible to get gas in our cars which is necessary for appointments, which we have 2 of tomorrow, two more again friday... And we have an appointment in Cincinnati next week. It's so hard to catch up and still pay for things that come up. I'm so sick of having one major stress or another. We just need to catch a break =(

If anyone could help in any way it would make such a huge difference for us. Thank you

If anyone would want to give us a hand acquiring more Ensure Clear drinks, that would be amazing. We are completely out and they have good calories in them. We all had the stomach bug that was going around and it dropped him down a couple pounds so we need to get more nutrition into him. Thanks so much

We have had some good fun and I wanted to share it with you guys =) he is still doing tube feedings but since I know how to remove and insert it, I sometimes give him time without it. He appreciates the break and I appreciate the times I get to see him smile

I updated the list of things to help jare: we are low on Ensure clear, we could use some of the bolthouse farms drinks (C-Boost or Mango) but I didn't put those on this list. I also added some snacks that jare has really been liking, to help him continue eating

At our check-up last week, Jareth had gained 3 pounds and all of his levels were good. We are hoping this continues and he has another check-up next week. =)

We had a follow-up today for a weight check and labs. His weight is down 3 more pounds but all his levels were normal, thankfully. He just got a pump for the tube feedings so we are hoping that will help with weight gain.

Jareth's sodium has been holding steady and we have switched to scheduled feedings instead of continous in preparation for going home. I had to insert an NG tube a bit ago which was nerve-wracking but went well. I believe I have to do it once more before discharge. Jareth got a visit from a therapy dog today and is doing music therapy now
