Jareth's Battle with Childhood Cancer

From then to now. My little boy isn't so little anymore. Tomorrow he turns 15 years old and I can't believe it. Every day this month I've looked back on our life together and I have loved every minute of being your mom. I have an incredible kid who has been dealt some bad cards yet has continued on.

Jareth, you are an incredibly funny, charismatic, smart, and handsome young man. I wouldn't change a thing about you. I wish you the very best birthday, though your birthday activities have been spread across this month. We will spend tomorrow, and every day after, enjoying you and celebrating you.

I love you so much, kid. ❤️

No disease progression, everything is stable! Yay!! Photo dump!

Jareth had an MRI and labwork on Monday and everything looks great! No growth or changes to the tumors, his weight is good and stable, his labs are all perfect or very close to it. We are so so happy to be able to report that all is well ❤️

Hey everyone! We are embarking on Jareth’s Make-A-Wish trip in less than one month to see Wrestlemania in Philadelphia! Jareth is incredibly excited for this and so are we, and we plan on sharing the adventure here with you all in photos!

So, our furnace has been booming and banging loudly for the last several days. Well, tonight I started wondering if there could be something serious like carbon monoxide and I realized a few of us had mentioned not feeling well, so after acquiring adultier opinions than my own, I called 911 and they sent the fire department to check.

I had to evacuate the house quickly, we huddled in our cars, and they checked. No leak here or at the neighbors, thankfully.

Having a leak was not a risk I could take. I know carbon monoxide can kill you before you know it's happening, and my mind went down a very dark path of Jareth being the most vulnerable out of us. I'm glad I called and I'm even more glad there isn't a silent death leak happening.

Now it's time to get the house back to bed and hope they forgive me for dragging them out at 2am.

We got to take Jareth to an Indy Eleven game thanks to A Kid Again - Indiana Chapter and we had a blast! They won!

One year ago today we received the life-changing news that Jareth has cancer. 1 year. It is so hard to believe that we have come this far, that we have made it through all the obstacles along the way. I'm incredibly grateful that we still have this incredible young man on this Earth.

Ready to tackle another year, and many more to come.

Post-Appointment Update:

The tumor has not grown! His weight is stable! We are getting set up with a bunch of services to help him as he continues recovering from radiation, and will continue doing 3 month scans to monitor the tumors.

We are HAPPY with STABLE!!!!
