Planned Parenthood literally saved my friend's life. She didn't have insurance (mid-2000s, very pre-ACA), so she went there for her annual exam. At the end of her visit the provider asked if she had any other questions or health concerns, and my friend mentioned some lumps in her neck. Thyroid cancer, in her mid-20s! She has some nasty scars and has to take thyroid medication for the rest of her life, but otherwise is fine now. I can't imagine how many other lives they've saved - physically and mentally
