Making Space

Since 1982, Dr. Logan has worked with men and women from all walks of life; counseling and educating them on effective means of recovery and rebuilding from their adversities. Roderick specializes in psychoeducation and skills building. Parents, caregivers, paraprofessionals, and business leaders alike have benefited from his services. Roderick understands the science behind the impact of trauma on children and adults, and is skilled communicator of such information to non-professional caregivers. As well, Roderick is a recognized expert in helping adult women and men, and young people with the means of getting their lives back on track as they recover from loss, addiction, or other traumatic impacts. Roderick is an alum of Grand Canyon University, holds a Master’s in Biblical Counseling and a Doctorate in Practical Theology from Master’s International University of Divinity. He is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS), certified in Forward Facing Trauma Therapy (FFTT), and a Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP).

Dr. Logan, since 2013, has worked directly with families fostering and adopting through the Arizona Department of Child Services, providing them education and counsel for parenting through attachment and developmental trauma. Most recently, Roderick joined the teaching team at the Arizona Trauma Institute, as an Organizational Trainer and Coach. The array of contexts in which Roderick has served others includes: small and mega-size churches as a youth pastor, teaching pastor, and counseling pastor. Outside the walls of the church, he has served in the transportation industry, broadcasting, and state government. Since 2006, his work has been directed towards supporting parents, families, and individuals. Roderick and his wife, Melody, have been married for 39 years and together they raised two sons and a daughter. They have eight grandchildren. Roderick’s passion and talent is most observable as a trauma/resilience educator, counselor, and mentor.

Here are some comments recently made about Roderick and his work.
