With so many types of art pieces to choose from for your home, it may be daunting to think about starting to shop for prints, posters, originals, or other works. However, filling your home with art should be an enjoyable process, and it isn’t quite as complicated as you might think, either. Just follow these four simple tips to help you find the right piece for your home.

1. Consider the color pallet of the room you’ll be putting the art piece in. You’ll want the colors to flow.

2. Think about how you want the room to feel; cozy, inviting, comfortable.

3. Pay attention to scale and positioning.

4. Consider your budget. Art work ranges from just a couple dollars to several thousands. Choose accordingly.

For a few years now, I’ve gone back and forth about whether or not to change up this space. While the area is functional to hang backpacks, jackets, purses etc. there’s so much wasted space I’d like to utilize.

In the next few weeks, we may start the process of creating a better use of that huge wall and hopefully resulting in a more cohesive and welcoming entryway!

I’ve been wanting to brighten up this small and oddly shaped space in our entryway for quite some time now. But I ran into a few hurdles with outlets that were placed randomly on the wall, a very narrow space to work with and lack of direct sunlight. So I decided to do a lighter toned console table to add some warmth, added subtle pops of color with some decor, then replaced the wall mirror with our family pictures for a personal touch. And I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

Cozy, rainy days are my favorite kind of days.

We made our master bedroom so comfortable, that when we don’t have a million things to do, this is where you’ll find me; binge watching my favorite shows, eating thin mints (thanks Girl Scouts) and relaxing.
