As I ponder Jimmy Buffett’s impact on my life, I can’t help but smile especially when I think about the way life moves sometimes, much like the characters from your ballads. No cheeseburger in paradise for me tonight unfortunately. But a cold draft beer works just fine.
I was introduced to Jimmy by my father and found it was something that we could bond over when I was an unruly teenager. For that I am forever thankful to Jimmy for the bond that my father and I were able to establish while listening to him. I distinctly remember that feeling inside, like we were both in on an inside joke together and for a teenager, that was an extremely special feeling. As a man it’s grows more special by the year.
Here’s to James Delaney Buffett. I raise my cold draft Caribe to you Mr. Buffett for the indelible and unique mark you left on my life. Thank you for your unique take on the world, the memories you made and the lives you touched. But most of all, thank you for the time you gave to me and my Dad.
