Given the weather we have had recently, Deep South Glass company contacted the SRIA about putting lightening rods on Pensacola Beach. Since they have been trying to raise money for the parking garage at casino beach they agreed. The lightning rods will be installed next week. They will start at the fishing pier and go down to the entrance of Fort Pickens. Please don’t touch the lightening the rods and don’t stand by them if a storm rolls up while you are at the beach. As long as no one gets struck by lightning, the beach will remain open to the public while they are out.
