Although my freelancing is on the back burner while the world (Rutgers University, that is) adjusts to pandemic costs, please take a look at the article on pages 4 through 7, my favorite feature for the last issue of the magazine. Kamali is an astounding young woman, a 4th year medical student and a world champion fencer. She is poised to renew her Olympic dreams in Tokyo this summer. https://rwjms.rutgers.edu/news_publications/publications/RWJMedicine-SS20-Web-Final/mobile/index.html?fbclid=IwAR05_61npYe53LX9VK6FVRe_C8ruKYQn9_zWc6qQObp_cBA_wOpO4mW-IzI

Earlier, I shared the link to the new issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine, but I'm doubling down, because this photo (on page 25) is just too cool not to share on its own. And I think you'll like the story, too!

Finally! The winter issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine is on the newstands -- or at least it's on your personal newstand via this handy clickable electronic version. I had two particularly interesting assignments; both were fun to research and write: the cover story "Maternal Health Awareness Day" (p. 8) and the Eagles Autism Challenge (p. 22). I hope you enjoy them along with all the good content by my fellow writers. Your feedback is always welcome!

The Summer issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine is here and ready for you to enjoy as an interactive PDF, (The students who initiated the Team STEPPS program had been Navy flyers. Thus the cover.) In addition to the cover story, page 17, I wrote the articles on pages 10 and 23, the alumni profile on page 46, and Research News. I hope you'll enjoy reading all of these articles as much as I enjoyed researching and writing them.

It seems impossible, but my post about the new issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine seems to have tumbled into oblivion. It's interactive, providing hours of clickable fun!

My cover story (p. 16) about the medical students' rally to make gun violence a public health issue reminds me how far we have to go. But it's start.

I really enjoyed the two feisty stars of my article on cystic fibrosis (p. 5.)and the opportunity to learn about the late Lloyd McPherson (p. 46), recruited in 1972 to, in turn, recruit more African-Americans to the medical school. He led an admirable and in many ways extraordinary life.

Please enjoy these scribbles, along with a collection of good articles by my fellow writers.

My article on gun violence is the cover story (page 16) of the Fall/Winter 2018 issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine.

lI had two additional writing assignments for this issue: one on the RWJMS Cystic Fibrosis Center and the other---the first "in memoriam" alumni profile we've ever published--- featuring Lloyd McPherson, MD '76 (p. 46), who was recruited to the medical school in 1972 to recruit African American students. If you're thirsting for more, after that, flip to Research News, p. 38, and please enjoy the work by my fellow writers, as well! .

It's here! The new issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine has been published! It's happenin', it's digital, it's interactive. And who can resist the cover story on the use of 3-D printing to replace a section of a patient's skull? My articles appear on pages 20 (Three Docs), 25 (Disaster Preparedness), 28 (faculty standout Nancy Walworth), and 28 (alumna Mahalia Desruisseaux, MD '00). Happy reading, good holidays and a healthy new year!

Rutgers Today reprinted my article on pain specialist and movie maven Pavan Grover, published in the spring/summer issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine.

Pavan Grover, a 1989 alumnus of Rutgers' Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, has two passions: medicine and movies. An unlikely pairing, perhaps, but he succeeds in melding them so that each enhances his enjoyment of the other. “Both are part of who I am,” says Grover, an anesthesiologist and interv...

The summer issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine is hot off the press and on its way into the hands of our excited readers.

I enjoyed all my assignments: two features (1. Global Health and 2. Epilepsy) and two alumni profiles (1. Esi Rhett and 2. Pavan Grover). Here it is, a reserved copy just for you!

Voilà!: an interactive PDF of the latest issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine. I hope you'll enjoy my the articles about the school and profiles of alumni. Please let me know if what you think --- and isn't the cover terrific? It illustrates the article on the medical school's program for transgender youth.

Good wishes to you all for 2017. I hope you'll enjoy the articles in our the latest issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine, published in December 2016. I was pleased to research and write the cover story, describing the medical school's new program for transgender youth, and, as always, appreciated the opportunity to write about the school's outstanding alumni through my assignments in that section.http://rwjms.rutgers.edu/news_publications/publications/RURWJMedF16_Fin_Animated/index.html
