As of 8:45 am here in the Houston area. We’ve had no power since about 5:30 am.
Time for the worst of it. Beryl is quickly losing strength without water to fuel its energy. Sustained winds are only about 65mph with gusts up to 85mph. I positioned what's left of the eye in the crosshairs. The blue dot is me in Pearland. We're lined up for the inner arm, which is the most intense.
Mike is 20 miles away in a hospital at the Houston Medical Center. There’s no safer place for him to be.
