My name is Mike Zacchio, and I have been working as a full-service mobile DJ and event MC in the Lower Hudson Valley for over 15 years. After guests continued making comments about my resemblance the singer Pitbull, the nickname "Mr. 845" was born and it has stuck ever since. The Beansโ€™ all-in bet on the final wager question proved to be the difference last night, edging out Trivia Team #1, 30,500-29,651, to claim the Season 5 championship at The Patriot Lounge. ๐Ÿง

Starting tonight, musical bingo returns to Hudson's Mill on a new ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฌ๐˜ญ๐˜บ basis every Monday.

The night starts at 7:00 p.m. and features four games each week. It is ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž to play, and there are $100 in gift certificates up for grabs each week. New genres and themes are selected each week.

On Wednesdays, the wildly popular TRIVIA Night at The Patriot Lounge starts at 7:00 p.m.

The 10-week season started last week, and we only count your top seven weeks towards your team's season total. Trivia is also ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž to play, and features $1,000 in gift certificate prizes this season (plus up to five wheel prizes each week).

For anyone who has ever been concerned with the cost of DJ because they โ€œjust play musicโ€, please let this post shed some light on why that is simply not true.

In 2019, all of my equipment was either handed down or entry-level. I did not have the skills or experience to troubleshoot any issues that might arise, or to handle high-profile events (such as weddings). I charged $250 for four-hour events because that is what I felt comfortable charging given my tools and experience.

Fast forward to 2024: Every piece of equipment I use is professional grade to ensure a flawless, consistent sound. Iโ€™ve worked every type of event imaginable. My rate has increased significantly, but only because Iโ€™ve invested in the time and resources to deliver a product worth that price.

Most DJs are also MCs of the room, event coordinators to put timelines in place, and tasked with keeping the event on time. Weโ€™re there two hours early to set up and an hour after to break down. We spend hours planning with clients and organizing music to make sure their vision becomes reality.

Every DJ is different, and as such, they charge different rates. There is so much more that goes into this line of work than people realize. Hopefully this post was able to shed some light on that. ๐ŸŽถ
