We Have Been Asked "Who Runs This Page"...???

I remain anonymous... I run this page out of my Love for what the club gave me and what Harry & Mike Parks & their Mother Marion Wills gave me. I worked with Harry in restaurants his Family owned in Peabody Mass. for many years. My band was the VERY first band to play Rock & Roll & Blues at the club. Replacing show bands like Dick Doherty & The Majority and Shire ! Alice was the bartender ! Dale & Mark Thomas eventually were Managers. Harry Parks was the Bouncer. I am a person with a vast Archive of pictures, posters, news articles. I have cassette tapes of many local bands from the 70's & 80's in many of the local North Shore clubs....Pretty soon we will be streaming local music on our Summit Club Radio & TV Network so stay tuned...We're just starting up ! Thanks for asking !...I call myself Harry out of respect for Harry Parks...Harry

THE CLIFFSIDE RESTAURANT

Mike Park's Cliffside Restaurant Conway NH...
Mike & Harry Parks were Brothers and with their Mom Marion Wills owned and ran The Summit County Club. Built in 1958, The Club was a place for Marion and her friends to meet. Soon it became a popular place. Rock & Roll bands started playing at The Summit Club in 1973. The Thomas Weir Band were the first to rock the Summit. Soon after, every major band from Boston and beyond played at The Summit Club.
Mike Parks now runs The Cliffside Restaurant in Conway NH.

Teddy & The Pandas :
Bass player Billy Corelle explains how the group got it's name..."You asked about how the name "Teddy & the Pandas" came about. We were originally called "The Sensations" but someone with the same name came out with a single which we knew nothing about so we had to change the name. The drummer at the time was Ralph Cooper who before he left for college came up with the name "Teddy & the Pandas" of course for Teddy Dewart and the rest of us. Funny story, all over the country wherever we toured, all radio shows that interviewed us, everyone thought the lead singer was Teddy! But of course we all know him as Al Lawrence."
