December 2024 Events and Happenings
~ We’re thrilled to announce our Winter Wonderland and Electric Light Parade on December 14th, 2024, at Green Valley Park! Join us for a festive afternoon filled with winter cheer! Join us from 1 PM to 5 PM as the Wreaths Across America Ceremony will kick off our event, followed by photos with Santa, tasty food vendors and other festive holiday activities. There will also be live music by Sonoran Swing from 3pm to 5pm. Plus, we’ll be kicking off our Genuine Ice Rink, complete with skate rentals available on-site! Don’t miss the Ceremonial Christmas Tree Lighting at 5:30 PM at Deming Pioneer Park on Main Street. Afterward, grab a spot along Historic Main Street to catch our annual Electric Light Parade! ~We’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting a Genuine Ice Rink at Green Valley Park from December 14th, 2024, through January 19th, 2025! This is a fantastic opportunity to experience the joy of ice skating in the pines! We will be hosting an Ice Skate and Celebrate - an All-Abilities day at the Payson Ice Rink on December 19th from 5pm to 9pm! Skate reservations will be required and will open closer to the event date, ensuring everyone has a chance to glide on the ice. Session packages will be available for $10 for each 50-minute session per person. Alternatively, you can purchase a Season Pass for $100 per person, which allows you to make reservations for the entire season. We’ll keep you updated on all the details regarding reservations and special events on the Ice, so be sure to follow our Parks and Recreation page for the latest information. *If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor for this year’s Ice Rink, we’d love to partner with you! ~We are bring back out Letters to Santa Drop Off! From December 2nd to December 14th, you can drop off you Santa Letters at the Payson Parks and Recreation Office during business hours. The Santa Letter Mail Box will also be at our Winter Wonderland Event on December 14th until 5pm. The office location is 1000 W. Country Club Drive, Payson, AZ 85541.
~ Our Annual Christmas Tree Drop off will be December 26th through January 12th located at the Payson Event Center! The Tree must be a non-decorated, natural tree. All Decorations, stands, lights or other items must be removed prior to drop off. This location is NOT a dump, no other brush or trash will be allowed. ~ Finally, we are happy to welcome Wreaths Across America on December 14th at 1pm as they kick off our Winter Wonderland event. Join them for a ceremony dedicated to remembering our fallen heroes this holiday season at the Green Valley Park Memorial Wall.
