He served as an art teacher and coach for forty years, teaching students how to express themselves through their artistic talents. Overall, the two local high schools graduated 78 students. Amadeaus Reeves was valedictorian of the Pawhuska class, and Jozelyn Brace was salutatorian. Barnsdall had four valedictorians – Phallen Clark, Nichole Marullo, Lexi Patrick and Haley Tarwater.

Pawhuska High School and Barnsdall High School last week held their 2021 graduation ceremonies. Overall, the two schools produced 78 graduates.

“Sovereignty, I believe, means taking care of each other,” Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on what turned out to be a sunny, warm spring morning. Standing Bear called the opening of the Wahzhazhe Heritage Trails “a great start” and outlined hopes for the development of other facilities and services.

The “Killers of the Flower Moon” adaptation promises to be different, though, because all the buzz and the economic opportunities associated with the making of a movie in an economically challenged small town are linked to the telling of an American horror story – the story of the murder and exploitation of Osage Indians to separate them from wealth generated by the discovery of oil in Osage County.

The Waddles closed Roadhouse Coneys just before Christmas 2020. They planned to make some upgrades in their building and equipment, and to add new menu items to accommodate customer requests. The project took longer than they expected, however.

Brian and Destiny Waddle closed their restaurant, Roadhouse Coneys, just before Christmas. They hope to reopen in early April, with new menu items.
