A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - The little “Lambs” were calling in my Bayhead Swamp after the rain. Eastern narrow-mouthed toads are not easy to find, but easy to hear this time of year.
The TrainTastic Interactive Model Railroad Museum is opening today! Head to #Gulfport and see the new gulf coast attraction. It's just Train Fun!
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - This flock of Turkeys made it across Hwy 15 in no particular hurry - giving me plenty of time to safely stop, pick up my phone, and get this video. They apparently “own” this part of DeSoto National Forest 😉
World-renowned dolphin expert, Dr. Holley Muraco rescued these adorable baby beavers! You can read more about their story on ourmshome.com! 🦫

A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - Bagworms are the caterpillars of a family of moths. They feed on a variety of plants and use pieces of plants and other debris to cover their silk bag for protection. Adult females lack wings and mature in their bags, where males find them to mate. Eggs develop inside the females case.
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - The 5 baby Bluebirds are making Mom (seen here) and Dad work hard - returning every 3-5 minutes to feed the loudest of them all, or the one hogging the entrance hole 🤗
Spotted! John Travolta filming his new movie in Biloxi. ☀️

A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - This male hummer seemed to be “bopping” to a tune in its head 🤣 Could have been the good sugar from my hummer plants or feeder, or he just likes Mondays 😳 Bird behavior is interesting, when we take the time to watch.
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - This Northern Cardinal was not going to let another out sing him 😉 He stood his ground for quite a while, with his honey nearby.
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - This Ringed Paper Wasp was warning me to “leave her alone” 😳 I did! Female paper wasp overwinter as individuals, starting their nest by themselves in spring. Her first daughters will help her grow her brood once they metamorphosis into infertile adults.
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - Ruby-throated Hummers are returning and are hungry after their journey across the gulf. Sugar water helps, but these birds also depend on small insects to replenish their reserves for their renewed travels as far north as Canada.
A Cajun's Daily Dose of Nature - MORE Pollen in the air 😳 Male flowers of Wax Myrtle resemble small pine cones. When ripe, windy weather or a mischievous person helps the pollen drift to nearby female flowers. Lots of fun 😉
