Our programs are focused on making unique and positive contributions in our community while enhancing the lives of the students in our neighborhood through positive adult relationships and asset building. By establishing mentoring relationships with positive role models and linking students with academic tutors, we are able to bring about marked changes in the student's identity, and in turn, affe

ct their value system bringing about a positive change in their behavior and lifestyle. By nurturing, empowering and training indigenous leadership, we are creating a sustainable community and developing the future voice of our community. We have chosen to go deep with fewer students in order to see lasting and life-long change in their lives.

Stars held a staff retreat at Connect 2 Rise Inc. this summer! 🙌⭐️ We were honored to have guest speakers Unitha Muhammad and John Williams share their expertise on communication and time management skills ⏳📝
The retreat also featured team-building activities like painting and a thread string activity that deepened our understanding of the importance of interdependent relationships. We hope to carry the insights made during this retreat to continue the Stars mission. 🧡

🌟Stars students participated in the “Boundless Creations” Arts Camp at Montrose Church - Pasadena Bresee Campus! 🎨🥁 From visual arts, percussion, improv, singing, and dance to filmmaking, photography, and stage-makeup sessions, our students dived into a week packed with play and creation! 🎬📸

During our Middle School Parent Meeting, program manager Alejandra Salgado gave an overview of what parents should expect this year.

The K-5 team, with the support of volunteers and parents, created a very intentional space at our Lake Ave. Chruch location. The space includes a reading station, a ”How are you feeling?” station, and an affirmation station! All of which play an important role in our students’ development.

Our students spend around 8 hours at school from Monday to Friday. When they come to school, they often have a lot on their minds and in their hearts. That’s why we want to make sure they get support not only for their studies but also for their feelings and social well-being. ⭐️

The Rose Bowl generously donated 18 trays of food to our wellness program. We are so grateful for the trays of fruit, veggies, & protein they provided. Donations like these help us provide nutritious meals and snacks to our students. 🧡🥳
