BENedicto CABrera, a Filipino painter, was recognized as a National Artist for Visual Arts in 2006 and is the best selling painter of his generation. And this museum houses his collection of his favorite artists as well as his own works; 4 floors of fascinating masterpieces left and right (with a bonsai garden and cafe to add). This was a top memory during our Northern drive back home.

Snippets of our brief trip to Rosarito, Mexico. So full of culture and history, made better when spent with the best people. If you can only afford a few days off, this weekend trip is next on your list.

TIP: if you’re worried about getting stuck at the border, start Saturday and come back Monday (instead of Friday-Sunday) and stay at the where they give a border fast pass for each room.

Best last minute find yet!!! We’ve been on this Fried Chicken thing for a while now, trying as many as we can find on the menu and so imagine our surprise when this breaded delight came out - crispy, juicy, spicy and everything nice.

MUST TRY: Fried chicken and gravy hands down and if you’re a fan - sub black-eyed peas for their spicy, tangy collard greens!!!
