Business Owner, when you go for Lines of Credit and Loans upwards of $250K+, the lender is going to ask you for paperwork. If the loan is full-doc (full documentation) these are the docs they'll likely be requesting from you: P/L (Profit/Loss) Statement, Bank Statements, Schedule of Business Debt, Personal Financial Statement and the Last 2 years tax returns. Don't let these docs fool you. Just build your business up to be able to present these docs confidently. It may take multiple years to get there, but your future self will thank you for it.

If you don't like owing banks. If you don't like making interest payments to banks. If you have a Whole Life or Indexed Universal Life insurance policy with a Cash benefit don't even bother applying for credit cards. You don't need em.' Why? Because you are now the BANK.

When I was 14 years old my "Mother", Aunt Joan, asked me if I wanted to go to New York City. At the time, the only other city I'd been to outside of Cleveland was Detroit with my Father. To me New York seemed like the biggest place in the world. I was too scared to ask my Mom if I could go so I asked Aunt Joan to ask her for me. When I heard my Mom say, "Yes", I was the happiest boy in the world. Aunt Joan drove me, my two cousins and a family friend all the way to the big city of dreams. This was the first time I had to pay for my own school clothes. I was mad at my Mom at first, but I quickly got over it when I realized I now had the power to choose the clothes I liked. At that time Jordasche was the rave; I got the Jeans and the Sweat Shirt. But my biggest prize had nothing to do with clothes. As soon as I saw that silver Boom Box with the flashing LED lights in the display window I had to have it. I didn't open the box until I got back home. That big thing took 8 D sized batteries to run, but I didn't mind ,because every time I walked down the street with it hoisted on my right shoulder blasting the song, "The Message," by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five the world was mine.
Aunt Joan passed in April 2019 but one of the seeds she placed inside my heart, the desire to travel, still lives in me. Rest Easy, Aunt Joan.

My first Financial Advisor was my Aunt Brenda Joyce Ervine. She was also the first employer who never fired my narrow behind. She would pay me in dollars and quarters. It was all a set up. Do you guys remember the bi-fold quarter savers? She would fill up the left side with quarters from her stash and I would fill up the right side with the quarters from my "pay check." When my quarters totaled $25 she took me down to one of the banks in the nearby shopping center and opened up my first bank account.

When I was 14 I worked this summer job at Margaret Park Elementary School in Akron, Ohio. I had the meanest supervisor ever; he didn't tolerate mistakes and he didn't like explaining himself more than once. I learned how to do it right, the first time, from him. Thank you Mean Sir.
