"Flowers are just kind of a glue. When people love flowers there's total commonality there, you know? It's amazing how it evens the playing field. It's really fun. I love seeing all the different people who come to my workshops." - Jennie Love, Owner of Love 'N Fresh Flowers
We're grateful that we got to explore Jennie's farm and learn about her hopes and dreams for this special place.

"I’m so pro Downingtown! Little fun fact. I mean I love Downingtown. I love farming in Downingtown. I take great pride in telling people that I’m from Downingtown. I really like the intersection of so many things that you can find in this area. You can find professionals who are working in the pharmaceutical industry; people who are working in the tech world intersecting with people who have farms and then artists who are working in Downingtown and a vibrant restaraunt community that’s right down on Main Street. So I love all of that, and I hope that Downingtown continues to be this sort of place where all individuals can make it here so that it is the kind of place that no matter who you are you’re able to afford being here. That just builds for a more vibrant community.” -Jennifer Simpson
This farm is special. We are honored to share a piece of their story with our community. Go check them out!

Worth Fighting For | Happy Earth Day
Truly Local • @birdseedflorals “I grew up in this area and I feel like I had to leave it for a while to come back and appreciate it. So I moved to Rhode Island for a few years and I felt like I was always missing the green of Pennsylvania. That was something I never realized was so special about it. So now I feel like our area in Pennsylvania is its own little micro climate and I really like to appreciate how much water and green space we have. I’m always learning from farmers about their own little microclimates and how the weather affects them and affects the flowers- that’s why I really keep this designers choice model because the reality is the crops change based on the weather and then what we use changes.” - Emalee | Owner of Bird Seed Local flowers from small, regenerative farms. Flour. Water. Salt. These 3 ingredients have played an integral role in daily life and is a symbol of culture, history, hunger, wealth, war, and peace. There are few non-negotiables in life and good bread is one of those things. Brandywine Valley Bread is small and unassuming; located under the “bagels” sign in a strip mall right off of Route 30; in-between Coatesville and Downingtown. Hand-made, in-house with locally sourced grain - it’s no wonder that owner’s, Fran and Maria, have a hard time keeping the shelves stocked. Open at 8am Wed-Sunday they operate on walk-ins only until sold out. First-come. First-served. #chestercountypa #brandywinevalley
