The City of Marietta Water/Distribution Department will be replacing a valve and installing a flush hydrant in the Harmar Hill area.
Water service to the area will be shut off to allow for the work to be done.
The Water/Distribution Department will shut the
water off beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 26th 2021 weather permitting.
Locations/Streets that will be affected arc as follows:
Customers (Approx. 32 to 35) w'ho reside on Gates Avenue. Nelson Avenue, & Lincoln Circle will be without water service.
The water will be off approximately 4 hours to complete the work barring no unforeseen circumstances. After the work is completed and the water service is restored, the system will be flushed to provide adequate chlorine levels for disinfection purposes.
There will be a recommended “Boil Advisory” after water service is restored. Customers affected by the water outage are advised to rapid boil their Drinking Water and any water used
for food preparation for 1 to 2 minutes following restoration of water service. Water that is used for showering, washing clothes, & other purposes will not be affected by the boil advisory. Customers could also experience brown and or milky water (mineral deposits
and trapped air) from the depressurization of the water main and should flush their cold water lines only until water is clear.
The Boil Advisory will be in effect for 24 hours after water service is restored unless customers are notified differently.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the water outage call the Water Treatment Plant at 374-6864. We thank all customers affected for their cooperation in this planned water outage.
Commitment to Quality Water & Service.
