FilmUtah dba/DigitalUtah is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to the economic growth of the Motion Picture and Digital Media industry in Utah. It’s mission, to provide information, training and worldwide industry connections for Utah based professionals. FilmUtah has a proven track record of promoting Utah businesses and professionals to worldwide entertainment companies, producing an on
going professional development seminar series and attracting jobs to the State. We see joining DFigitalUtah as an ideal way to align our mission with a key cluster advancement need, e.g. industry accredited digitally proficient support service personnel. DigitalUtah will establish partnerships to create a definitive link between educational institutions and the digital media and motion picture economic development cluster for the purpose of strengthening industry connectivity and aligning key entities in business development. We propose the formulation of an ecosystem for Utah digital media cluster advancement and include an on-the-job-training (OJT) program that equips trainees in vocations directly and indirectly to digital technology. The entertainment industry advances the technology growth in the digital media sector but the capability of digital media production service sector is only as good as the workforce. An ecosystem must be structured with the goal of creating a digitally proficient workforce to advance the growth of the cluster in the State of Utah.
