This is an important song by Michael Haymans, and I want you to really listen to the lyrics and realize how relevant they are to the times we are living in now. At this past Florida Winter Music Festival I had the pleasure of capturing a fireside conversation (minus the fire) with Chakulla Smith, Nancy Faulkner, Nora Bear Music, Trevor Bystrom, and Michael Haymans.
These folks have been helping The Hunger Bus with its mission to To Inspire, Raise Funds, Non-perishable Food Items, and Hunger Awareness, working towards Ending Hunger through Musical Performance, Staging Concerts and Events to Benefit Food Banks, pantries,s and other Non-profit Agencies.
While at the festival, a djembe was donated as a prize and attendees could either come play on the Hunger Bus Stage, donate food items, or place a monetary donation for a chance to win the drum. You'll have to catch the latest episode of Sunshine State Showcase to find out who the winner was if you weren't there! It will be out in the coming weeks. Until then, here's a quick glimpse of the great time we had together singing and talking about the kindness that's possible when folks come together for the love of community.
