Please allow me to interrupt before the turn-up. If I’m being honest, the top of ’23 was not the best time for me. I’ll go into the details another time. I was talking hit after hit after hit. I hit a dark space which I kept to myself because, well, you know, black man sh*t. And yes, I know, you don’t have to lecture me in the comments 😂.

But even though it was rough, I felt it was necessary as I was not moving properly on my path. I think Big G upstairs had to give you boy POW POWs!

This was the first time I actually considered running away from my path, but God had other plans. No matter what I did, He made me sit down and figure it out.

Once I accepted that I was going nowhere, I took drastic steps to advance on my path.

I am proud to say that this year, I was able to bring back two of my employees on a part-time basis. I also landed new retainer clients, filled over 40 positions across various projects, and built a trusted network of contractors and freelancers. I served as a producer on three projects, directed and DP’d numerous projects, and wrote, directed, and DP’d my first commercial project. Furthermore, I linked up with a writing partner, and together, we completed a short film that is now headed to film festivals. And, to be honest, that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

I am grateful for my wife, family, and close friends who supported me even when I became distant trying to figure things out.

Later on in another post, I will give my Key Takeaways from 2023, but for now, Be Thankful, Be Grateful, and most importantly, Be Safe tonight. See you all in 2024!
