Cleanup at the Lagoon, 2025.
I caught this Great Blue Heron one morning getting cleaned up as he perched on a little rock popping out of the Indian River Lagoon. We all have our morning rituals, and for this guy, this is the equivalent of brushing his teeth.

Sleepy Sunday, 2025.
Spirit embodies all the Sunday feelings today. We're just having a nice lazy day at home, snuggling up, watching movies and spending quality time together.

Portrait of an Ibis, 2025.
We see flocks of Ibis around here all the time and most people don't give them a second thought, but I was thrilled to capture this portrait of one of these sweet birds the other week while visiting Castaways Point Park. I love their crystal blue eyes set amongst those white feathers and bright orange beaks. They always seem like happy little birds as they forage around with their little families.

Reflections of Rocket, 2025.
This week I was tasked to do a photograph on reflections. Instead of taking the more literal interpretation, I decided to go with the idea of reflection as seen through the eyes of my dog, Rocket.
Here my senior boy gazes on through the mirror at his puppy self. Through the magic of Photoshop, puppy Rocket seems to have one paw in both worlds, as if he is stepping through the mirror. My how time flies.

Nut Hiding, 2025.
This little guy was eagerly trying to find the perfect place to hide his nut amongst the giant rocks along the shoreline at sunrise.

The Female Anhinga, 2025.
I looked up in the trees to see this unusual bird perched over the waters of the Indian River Lagoon. The anhinga are skillful swimmers and when they hunt fish they are able to dive under the water and swim with just their necks showing above, hence their nickname, the snake bird.

Blue Hour Over the Lagoon, 2025.
There was a beautiful blue hour and sunrise this weekend looking over the Indian River Lagoon.

Great Blue Heron in Black & White, 2025.
I caught this pretty heron this week sitting amongst the rocks along the Indian River Lagoon. I was challenged to do a photo "In the style of" another famous photographer this week, so I decided to do this one in honor of an amazing wildlife photographer named Melissa Groo. While most of her work is in color, I once saw this beautiful picture of a heron she did in monochrome and was inspired.

Water Galaxy, 2025.
Something a little different this week. This photo of some water a little oil, a little food dye and an overhead flash was all that was needed to create this galaxy in a glass.
