A new transportation program is helping rural Nevadans get the care they need. Thanks to a $10,000 grant from The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation and a partnership with NyE Communities Coalition, residents in Nye, Lincoln, and Esmeralda counties can now access free rides—or gas vouchers—to medical and mental health appointments. Food, fun, gift giveaways, and dozens of smiling volunteers made the “No Dads Left Behind” car wash a meaningful Juneteenth and Father’s Day celebration in Pahrump. Organized by Doré Foskey with help from Gennice Walker—who even designed the flyers—and a small but mighty MLK Committee team, the event raised $1,006 for the Martin Luther King Foundation’s scholarship fund. Held at Great Basin College with support from Director Dr. Christopher Salute and his staff, the event featured help from Lt. Amie Sitter Jones of the Civil Air Patrol, vendors like Sunflower Fashion and Jefferson’s Books & Accessories, and over 35 volunteers who were rewarded with salon vouchers from Fresh Image.
