🏆What is Best of Pahrump?
Best of Pahrump is an annual FREE online contest owned and operated by the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce where we encourage you to recognize the best in Nye County businesses. It is open for everyone to participate in. All businesses in Nye County are eligible to be a part of this contest. They do NOT need to be a member of the Chamber! We encourage you to promote the contest in order to gain nominations and/or votes, you can do this easily by sharing the Chamber’s social media posts or even posting a sign at your business to encourage your customers to nominate and vote for you!

🏆How does it work?
There are two phases to this contest:

The first phase is the nomination process. This is a “write in” option. We rely on you to provide us your favorite choice in each of our categories, a business who has earned the designation of “BEST OF PAHRUMP”. If you are nominating a type of business that has multiple independent offices in town, please indicate the address of your nomination when you type in your answer.

The second phase is the final voting process. Once the nominees are finalized, we ask you to vote on one choice in each category. Winners will be announced on social media in early January 2025 and will be invited to attend our Black & White Gala on January 24th at the Pahrump Nugget to receive recognition and their awards. Each winner is provided one free ticket to attend.

🏆How many times can I nominate or vote?
We ask that you nominate and vote only once. All voting and tabulations are controlled by an independent out of state contractor to assure fairness and security. If multiple duplications are received by a contestant, only the first recorded nomination and/or vote will be tabulated.

🏆I’m a winner! Can I put the Best of Pahrump winner’s logo on my website and social media?

A Las Vegas jury has convicted Pahrump Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore guilty on all counts of federal wire fraud, today October 3rd. Fiore is set to be sentenced on January 6, 2025. Fiore was facing 6 charges of wire fraud and 1 count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Each count carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison. She remains out of custody, as prosecutors chose not to request her detention after the verdict. Instead, they indicated they would seek electronic monitoring. Fiore’s attorney reportedly said he plans to file an appeal. News 25 will have more on this story on tomorrows newscast.

The free Remote Area Medical (RAM) event in Pahrump will be held on Saturday, October 5th, and Sunday, October 6th. The event will be held at the Pathways Building at Pahrump Valley High School Campus, 501 E. Calvada Boulevard.

Free dental, vision, and medical services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. No ID is required. Due to time constraints, be prepared to choose between DENTAL and VISION services. Medical services are offered to every patient attending the clinic.

The patient parking lot will open by 11:59 p.m. (midnight local time) on Friday night, October 4th, and remain open. Patients arriving at the parking lot will be provided with additional information regarding clinic opening processes and next steps. Clinic doors typically open at 6 a.m.

Patients should be prepared with their own food, water, medicines, and clothing when arriving early. Bathrooms will be provided.

This clinic is in collaboration with the NyE Communities Coalition.

Nye County Animal Shelter adoption event through Oct 15th

Pahrump, NV October 1, 2024—BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is prompting a national call for adoption this fall with its Empty the Shelters reduced-fee adoption event from Oct. 1-15.

Nye County Animal Shelter will participate along with more than 390 shelters in 44 states. To help deserving shelter pets find loving homes, BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees during each nationwide event.

• Nye County Animal Shelter will participate Oct. 1-15 offering $20 adoption fees for dogs and cats.
• Hours of operation are Monday – Sunday from 10a-5p

With almost 70 dogs and 30 cats available for adoption, the Nye County Animal Shelter has a variety of breeds of varying ages awaiting their furever home.
