Multiple Agencies Respond to Man Walking in Middle of Highway 160, Suspicious Package Deemed Harmless Pahrump, NV – At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, a joint response from the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) and the Nye County Sheriff’s Department was triggered when a man was spotted walking in the middle of Highway 160, creating a potential traffic hazard. According to officers on the scene, the man openly admitted to walking in the roadway. Concerned for his safety and the safety of drivers, law enforcement officers instructed him to move to the sidewalk. Complicating the situation, a suspicious package was also reported near the scene, prompting a brief investigation. However, after a thorough examination, authorities determined that the package was nothing more than discarded trash.“There was no immediate threat, but we take all reports seriously,” an officer at the scene stated. “Our primary concern was ensuring the individual was out of harm’s way and that the roadway remained safe for drivers.”The man was escorted off the highway without further incident. Fortunately, his city of Pasadena, CA has its own government, its own mayor and they did not run out of water.
